Certainly his passing and skill were always underrated just because he was a brutal destroyer and they labelled him as that, far better all round footballer than most blinkered souls think.

I should take issue with this Keane was a thug nonsense - apart from the Haaland incident, which was clearly premeditated, I can't remember any career-threatening tackles made by Keane. Gerrard, on the other hand, has been guilty of several.
Gerrard is the most overrated footballer I have ever seen - Keane was a far superior footballer. |
