They are claims made by someone with intimate knowledge of the working methods and culture of the CIA and MI6.
You should remember that Powell was an Ulster Unionist MP at the time of the Mountbatten murder - why would a man in such a position not be happy to go along with the official line that he was killed by the Provos? Powell was a man of principle, who sacrificed his personal ambitions to warn against events which have largely come about in spite of his warning, and was brought down by people who can best be described as dolts when compared to him. We could do with one or two like him now - instead we have a parliament full of men like the Quisling Ted Heath which is why even today, upon the death of a beheader of women, the arch enemy of free speech and a flogger of Liberal bloggers, our flag flies at half mast. |

I know Enoch Powell was an ulster unionist mp at the time he made his claims Jed. I live in northern Ireland. On the same day Lord Mounbatten's boat was blown up in Mullaghmore in Sligo the ira killed 18 british soldiers in warrenpoint. It would defy any reasonable logic to suggest the ira did not carry out both of those events which happened on the very same day.
Sad and tragic loss of lives for all those people killed that day by the way. But Enoch Powell's claims are incredible to say the least. |

Not a bit too convenient? I rarely post on conspiracy theories but in this case is it not possible if this claim was true that the CIA would possibly have prior knowledge to what the IRA were up to at any given time ? |

Yes Jed, some of these theories are incredulous but not on this occasion, not saying I think its true mind you just not as impossible as many I have heard.

Yeah mate, I'm not a great believer in any of them given they're normally espoused by loonies in their underpants at a keyboard, but I doubt Enoch would have made such claims without foundation - would have been most unlike him.

It is the paradox of the Left's position on Islam - they are happy to scream their usual screams of 'racism,' 'cultural imperialism' and the like to shout down those of us who are rightly suspicious of it, but if forced to go any further they are lost. Their refusal and inability to extend the debate beyond these parameters belies the weakness of their position, in that the only things they have in common with Islam is their hatred of Western democracy and their absolute denial of anyone else's right to have an opinion which contradicts theirs. Fred won't be along any time soon, because shouting 'racist' at the man who more than anyone inspired the British people to resist Nazism is the limit of his argument. |
