Can anyone help me by explaining the purpose of the Talksports continual repeat of the same clips ad nauseum?
Until about six weeks ago I had been a regular listener to Talksport for some years but I finally got so fed up with to these repeats that I stopped listening.
Some of the clips will be repeated a number of times in an hour , every day(Quinn training a winner, Brazil getting glasses etc) and must have been repeated over a hundred times.
The clips are neither funny or informative and I have racked my brain time trying to fathom out their purpose. The only possible explanation I can think of is that they cannot sell enough advertisements so use these clips as fill ins. I suppose one other reason might be that they have run out of material and these are cheap fill ins.
Some executive at Talksport must have thought it was a good idea to use them - I would love to know the logic behind the decision.
Has anyone any other ideas?
I switched on Talksport the other day expecting them to have stopped , but no, there still on, no doubt turning more listeners off.
If you analysed an hours output deducting the time taken by advertisements, all these clips and promotoions for forthcoming programs you would not be left with much of a program.
...and no, I cant be bothered to go into google and copy and paste the correct name spelling of these unfunny twits.
better than horsbey and jacobs puns.......and no, I cant be bothered to go into google and copy and paste the correct name spelling of these unfunny twits.
Quinn and Georgie Bingham on weekday breakfast is excruciating to listen day. Pathetic features, awful attempts at humour, forced banter and about two minutes per hour of actual analysis about the weekends football is a real missed opportunity given 5Lives poor morning offering.

I used to like the chap on late at night who I think passed away. He was actually into motorsports and was a driver I think in rally cross, an educated James Whale type

Put in to tick the boxes no doubt and just bad bad bad at her job.
The viewers figures for the weekend breakfast shows must be on the floor compared with when Mark Saggers done it.

Can't go wrong with Johnny vaughan on the saturday warm up. Light hearted banter and particular highlight of the show "The river Niall." Ex pro footballers spilling the beans with funny anecdotes of yesteryear. Admittedly, some guests are lame and soon get cut off.
As already mentioned "the two Mike's." Neither hold back, no quarter given.
Clips of both are readily available as free downloads.

Desperate radio station. Half the time relies on one of the presenters delibaretly holding an absurd point of view so that gullible types will get irate and ring up. Is Alan Brazil still managing to mention his part in Ipswichs UEFA cup win in 1981 every half an hour?

"My health is not in question." A biting retort (made me chuckle more than once) from a no nonsense top presenter. I always thought his sudden passing was a heart attack. Parry & Co gave him a great send off.
What became of Ian Collins?

Andy Jacobs is an absolute embarrassment. Spends 3 hours chortling at the other guys jokes, and we also get an insight into what restaurant he went to last night.
Brazil is just a puggled idiot.
I enjoy Murray and friends (they brought us trust darts )
Bingham and that loathsome Micky Quinn is torturous listening.
Drivetime is my favourite with the troll Durham.
You get a few laughs out of Any Goldstein on The Sports Bar.
Vaughan show is funny, even if he is a big headed, ignorant tw@t.

BobbyPeru you've pretty much summed it up. Can't listen everyday but when I have caught their shows....
-Andy Jacobs is such a bore and just loves to moan. The reason he laugh at Paul Hawksbee's jokes so much is because he's about the only one willing to put up with his moaning and very odd ways. -Brazil is a blagger who in times of hardship for a lot of people, doesn't stop talking about his latest wining and dining adventures with the rich and famous, and the conversations with his mate Hank are stomach turning -Murray's voice just goes straight through me and can't listen. -Durham doesn't believe anything he says, a professional radio troll, he's even had Pro footballers ringing up in rage, Carragher, Clinto Morrison etc. -Bingham doesn't have any of her own opinions and as said is there to tick a box. -Sportbar varies from the funny to the stupid, depends when Bobby Gould is on -The two mikes are brilliant together. -Danny Kelly is very good.
Rant over

According to his website (http://www.iancollins.com/) he's an LBC Presenter, BBC regular, Sky & News Channel pundit, occasional mouthpiece for BBC2's Daily Politics & BBC1's This Week and can sometimes be heard getting a public lashing on Radio 4's The Moral Maze.
