And as for the suggestion that the Newham generals might reunite for a CMAT Benefit Gig, oh puh-leaze. If you're going to do this sort of thing, please get it right. Why not reassemble the classic 1960s Newham pub gig regulars of Queenie Watts (vocals), Wilfred Hyde-White (percussion and odd smells), Reggie Kray (psychedelic bagpipes) and General de Gaulle (accordion) to do a protest show? Midge Geldof and Bob Ure could only dream of getting an ensemble like that onside. |
