Over christmas I was speaking to someone I'd thought was a bit of a lefty, and they quite surprised me by out of the blue, changing the subject to say something quite .. I read this afternoon that when Nick Griffin was on Question Time Witch Hunt, quite a crowd gathered outside the BBC to protest at him being given broadcasting time.

As they were protesters, they obviously weren't BNP followers.

Could this be the reason that I was surprised to read that there had been scuffle outside between protesters and the police, and 6 protesters were arrested. 

I'm sure I'd have remembered it if the BBC reported it.

the BBC made a point of showing how many outraged protesters there were outside the building, strange though they never showed any trouble.
