....when it's dark.

I need some sort of override switch, that prevents guests from going into downstairs rooms, and stairs and landings, from switching them off.

I hate dark and dullness, and it costs sod all to run a few light fittings.

Fine for guests in their bedrooms but otherwise don't turn off the fekking lights please!

Cue the Greenies to respond but I'm not turning off my "Lava Lamp" for anyone.

Can't you get motion sensing light switches (as designed for small children or burglars) that automatically turn the lights on when you stagger down the corridor?

Why does anyone want a light on in an empty room?

I'm the opposite to you AP.

I see no need for lights to be on when a room is not being used. I'm not sitting in it, so it can stay dark.

Our kitchen has 7 spotlights and 2 flourecscent lights in in. If I had £1 for every time Mrs CMAT goes out to the shed to feed the pets, and leaves the kitchen lights on, I'd be a rich man.

She says 'I'm not that long.'

I say 'Every day it's at least half an hour,

It's an hour during the winter.

365 days at half an hour is at least 183 hours a year they are burning, for nothing.

The same applies to the 2 floodlights in the back garden. In the winter she turns them on to be able to see to get to the shed.

Does she turn them off when she comes back in?

No she doesn't!!

It annoys me.

Jewish and Scottish, two austere types for the price of one.
