However, when the newcomer proves more popular with the locals than expected, Mapp is left out in the cold, leading to a constant battle for supremacy over bridge parties, garden fetes, art competitions and even the odd yoga class. I watched the first part of Mapp and Lucia earlier.

Hugely enjoyable and very funny.

Miranda Richardson is brilliant. I loved the garden party scene at the end.

They are both wrong....haven't seen 2 and yet

only good thing on,so english. filmed in rye and the station is on the bluebell line,filmed last may,i was at the station the day b4 filming there

Have to say I was a tad disappointed as I was a great fan of the original series and have watched that again quite recently and this version just as well acted. I thought the original was more gentle and subtle, whereas this seemed somewhat laboured at times. All that said, it was still one of the better things I have seen on TV in recent years and it wouldn't surprise me if they made some more.

Just watched the second part of this. I'm loving it.

and you shall darling you shall, the hotel they say is haunted btw as its very old but when we stayed nothing out of the ordinary happened unlike the greyhound inn near taunton

I awoke in the middle of the night and the bed was moving like a dingy on the sea and in the morning having a shower,the water was too hot so I turned it down to 5,a few seconds later it was back up to 6,trust me it couldn't move on its own
