New series.
Miss Elizabeth Mapp reigns supreme in the picturesque town of Tilling, and has even more reason to gloat than usual when she lets her house for the summer to a very desirable tenant - Mrs Emmeline Lucas, known to her friends as Lucia. However, when the newcomer proves more popular with the locals than expected, Mapp is left out in the cold, leading to a constant battle for supremacy over bridge parties, garden fetes, art competitions and even the odd yoga class. Period comedy, starring Miranda Richardson and Anna Chancellor. Written by co-star Steve Pemberton, based on the comic novels by EF Benson. Continues tomorrow

I watched the first part of Mapp and Lucia earlier.

Hugely enjoyable and very funny.

Miranda Richardson is brilliant. I loved the garden party scene at the end.

Looking forward to parts 2 and 3.

Have to say I was a tad disappointed as I was a great fan of the original series and have watched that again quite recently and this version just as well acted. I thought the original was more gentle and subtle, whereas this seemed somewhat laboured at times. All that said, it was still one of the better things I have seen on TV in recent years and it wouldn't surprise me if they made some more.

Just watched the second part of this. I'm loving it.

Miranda Richardson is stealing the show.

Rye looks beautiful.

Thanks, Terry. I've just looked it up. Lovely location, too. I'll remember that Happy

I've just watched the third and final part. Perfect Sunday afternoon viewing.

I agree with Leopard. It's been the best thing on over Christmas.

I want to live in Tilling with Mapp and Lucia Love

Terry

What happened at the Greyhound Inn?

Buygb.com :

If you hear the merry laughter of the Grey Lady in the bar of The Greyhound Inn it just might be the inns resident ghost. There again it could just as easily be the sound of a fellow guest enjoying the warmly welcome atmoshere of the charming Inn. Or should you hear the jingle of keys late at night, its not necessarily the after-effect of the Ale.

Usually made up to get more Yanks coming....they love a ghost !

I awoke in the middle of the night and the bed was moving like a dingy on the sea and in the morning having a shower, the water was too hot so I turned it down to 5,a few seconds later it was back up to 6,trust me it couldn't move on its ownMischief
