The Royals are untouchable, Britain's image would never be allowed to be tarnished with a Royal scandal of that proportion, poor Diana

I wonder what the odds would be for a member of the royal family to be very close frroends with a paedophilic necrophiliiac murderer most prolific in british known history known to secret services, who was an ageing djShocked of absolutely no significance other than childrens charities. How could someone be on best friend terms with not just royalty but the then current prime minister and other mps,ask your self this question why would he be allowed to mix with these unless themselves were ''untouchable''Shocked

Since nobody knew of these allegations, why would they not?

Not one allegation was ever proved, it is all assumption

Personally I think we gone completely potty myselfCrazy

My worry is the Queen Mother liked the horses, and the Queen never misses the Derby.  Charles likes/liked polo, but that's all.
I want a king who plays snooker, and goes to the races.

The problem is imo, is that the royal family underpins vested interests in this country.

So long as those vested interests of a tiny minority are preserved and protected, the rest can go to hell.

If we had like in the US, a government of the people, for the people, by the people, must of the ills in modern day Britain which most on here rail against, would be less likely to occur.

everybody gets a gun

death sentences in prisons

packed out prisons

$billions spent on war while citizens have no jobs

$billions spent by NASA while citizens have no jobs

riots every time an armed black person gets shot by a police officer

no riots when an unarmed hispanic youth gets shot DEAD by a black police officer

We need a Republic.

The Royal Family would be much better off if they stepped aside and would get less attention from the press/media.

Every country has its problems but their system of government is far more accountable and transparent.

For example, take the open door immigration policy of recent years. Do you think that would have occurred if the powerful vested interests had been affected?

We need a Republic.

Why ?
The Queen has no say whatsoever in the running of the county

So lets have a president who on his own could press the button for destruction Crazy

It's never 1 man's decision, maybe a group of 5's, each advised by 3 or 4 people.

The Queen is at the head of the British Army.

If it came to it....they all fall in behind her and her family.

That's why Wills and Harry went in the Army/RAF/Navy.

I found it most strange that wesdag, never commented on the 'Who's your favourite sportsman?' thread after I selected the best known muslim sportsman on the planet - Muhammad Ali.

I wonder why not?

And if wesdag thinks I was bluffing, and he knows more about the professional fight career of Clay/Ali than I do, he's welcome to take me on in a quiz.

Why would someone who allegedly hates muslims know his career that well.

I must be easy to beat, surely.

It's also strange that wesdag managed not to comment on any thread where I mention my mates Don and Tony, who are both Jamaicans.

I wonder why not?

It was equally strange that wesdag and other cambridge  punts, never comment on my Newham threads after I had stated that I lived with a Sikh girl for 3 or 4 months in the 1970s.

I wonder why not?

Wetwanq thinks I hate blacks because one mugged my disabled sister, because he's brought that up about 4 times, not that he cares about Newham, you understand.

I posted about Newham and wetwanq and his mates said they didn't care, but it took them over 20 posts to say it on one thread LaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaugh WABOC

And all he does is tell his mate SH that I hate blacks and muslims.

Still, a broken clock is right twice a day.

Wonder if there will be a big celebration if Liz breaks Vicky's record.  It is sometime in 2015 I believe.  More interesting than a 60th anniversary imo.

I think the problem with Prince Charles and the Royals in general is that they do not have a role

Parliament governs this country

In the past they have been more influential than now, Queen Victoria was, in fact they ruled us at one time

They seem to be just for show now, or some kind of living soap opera

My opinion is Charles is someone who never quite got his personal life sorted out

His only contribution are his comments on Architecture. I don't know whether he is right or wrong, but at least he has brought it back

into the public eye for discussion.

We have some very good Architects in this country
