Buses and trams are both safer modes of transport than Planes.
So planes being the safest mode of transport is indeed a myth. They are infinitely safer than driving though whichever method you use to work it out whether it be miles or time. If you drive you have a 1 in 48 chance of your method of dying being a car crash! |

Even if true a 1 in 48 chance of dying in a car crash would not of its self make driving more dangerous than flying or even buses or trams.
