got a letter today saying 6 weeks ago i never paid and displayed.they want 70 quid as they say they put a ticket on my car notifying me to pay within a certain time.never happened.looked in the car and found the ticket for that day!!-but half hour after they reckon the ticket was issued.scamming bastards,feel to go to their office in birmingham and beat everybody in the office up-badly.

i would not shop somewhere they charge you to park, even if it is redeemable. That was my thoughts exactly and I phoned to complain and got told that if they didn't charge the car park would be full of workers from the nearby town centre. |

i was gonna accept it thinking i may genuine have forgot to buy one and try to haggle the fine down.
however on finding the ticket i now feel they are trying to demand money with menaces (court proceedings).i now feel they should be treated as they think they can treat me.i am a bad person frightening people used to be my way |

I understand your anger, have had it done to me The Asda near me has same problem, if they did not charge for car parking, shoppers would never get in As long as one spends £5 it is redeemable |

From what other people have told me its only enforceable if its issued by a council, they may send threatening letters but the chances they will take it to court are slim, they know 90% of people will pay up & though they send out letters they may keep sending them but they never follow it up, to get the bailiffs in they have to get a court order first & that step is just not taken by these shysters, they don't have to, they know most people pay up, a friend of mine has had a dozen of these tickets & thrown them in the bin over the last year or so he has heard nothing, yes you have to be prepared to be threatened & sadly everyone moans but most pay up.

my sister in law had one in tescos about 2 years..........didnt pay and they had no power to enforce it

I think firms give up when the costs outweigh the fine.
I once had a bill for not automatically renewing my car insurance, i paid for one year as that is what i wanted and sold the the car before the end of the cover. They tried to debit the 2nd year when i never requested it, usual crap they said i agreed to it under the t&c's. Told them i wont ever pay the £80 as long as i live, didnt hear from them again. |

I think as Chavman is such a bad and frightening person, he should make good on his threat and travel up to Birmingham to beat up an office full of debt collectors very badly.
