How many on here can say in truth that they are any better at gambling now than they were when they started out?

Over the years I've lost count of the systems (football) that I thought would be the holy grail, laying in bed thinking this is the one. Then two weeks later deleting the spreadsheet in disgust.

you really wouldn't believe how hard some poker pro's have to work

watching the apple programme & hearing 70 hours per week is too much for anybody .. I decided it's time for me to quit Plain

£4k withdrawals this year although helped by a £1.6k "Jackpot" win. Unlike McMoon, It's just a profitable hobby that I love.

Love the game but understand frustrations of McMoon, the game IS harder than 5 years ago.

I've worked very hard on my game and can honestly say I'm a far better player than I was even a year ago.

The best forums on here for picking up knowledge on betting are the cricket forum and the specials forum ( where they bet on things like big brother etc ). Just my humble opinion.

Aint been on the specials forum in ages but I spent one whole series of big brother popping in and out of it. The nuances of betting on these kind of markets where voting counts towards the winner and other things influence the result were something I had never thought about before.

9 years for me

still hanging in there just scraping a living - no job prospects as no one will employ me .

it's getting harder and harder ,i have met my match on here for sure this year -  still winnning but have to concentrate so hard it's becoming stressful - any mistakes are costly .

still maintain 20 hours a week  - won't work longer than that ,never have and never will - life is toooo short - rather live off any savings .

As someone said ,a few years ago it was RAINING money on here .

hgope life is treating you well moonbeam . what will; you do now - any betting away from poker ?

Ovalman - i'm far more skilled now than 5 years ago ,but not doing anywhere near as well .The bar has been raised . The strong players are taking chunks out of each other .

One day there will be 2 players on here slugging it out to see who is the King of Betfair .

Its like being a regular scorer in League 2 and then finding yourself having to cut it in the EPL .

There is a type of evolution going on. In the early days there were plenty of profitable niches to be discovered and exploited. The turnover was only a fraction of what it is now and hardly anyone had heard of bots.
It's only natural that by now all the easy options have gone and making a profit becomes harder.

It is still possible to do well on here as there are competing interests in any market which makes them less than efficient. My own stamping ground is Test Match cricket and I find it pays to specialise in a narrow field so that you know at least as much about what's going on as most of the other players in the market.

As for betfair paying us a £500 bonus, well one can dream.Love.

I thank-you Foinavon.. best wishes and Merry Xmas to you sir :- but I still have the Spectrum Blue XFS.. now three ears old and first MOT'd. This white one was just a curtsy car on that service and MOT day.. (and not as good as my original  - I HATE stopstart techno and 8-gear seems OTT to me!).

A Merry Christmas to you too Ivor, and a profitable New Year.

Is the incremental project still on course? Hopefully the greyhounds are still running in your favour.

Quite so TY Grin: now well into the 2015 target (but dumped the dogs) - the best returns are all long in the face and legs now). Take cur boyo.
