Regarding Fatima:I've been,and remain,heavily involved with Athletics for well over 50 years.

Back in the days when the Women's AAA Championships was a separate event from the Men's I traveled down from Coventry(where I was a student at Warwick University) to Crystal Palace for the Women's event.I must have been the only person there who wasn't a friend or relative of the competitors,given the few hundred present.

Anyway,on account of her unusual name I was paying attention to young Fatima's performance which was well below that of her very moderate seniors.

Lo and behold,when her event was over she came up to join her family who were seated immediately in front of me in the near deserted stand.She spoke with a young women's squeaky voice.

It wasn't only the East Germans and Soviet  athletes who have a lot to answer for.

Her squeaky voice was caused by a kick in the bollocks.

Andy Norman also had a lot to answer for,according to my neighbour who worked with him in the Met.
