Was going to get my nephews some for Christmas - until I saw the quality.  Not a patch on the 70's original kit.

i had lego for every xmas/bday. i had loads, sadly my dad robbed it off me when i was about 16.

Forget fifa. This was the king of football games. I had all the teams, the stadium, floodlights, scoreboard. The lot.

I had the floodlights too, never could get into subbeuto, preferred the press the head football game.

Poker dice as well of course, I was never into space invaders or play stations or whatever else is on the list. Pull up a chair and get your pocket money out and lets roll them dice.

Longstoryshort, i put my poker set at mothers for the 3 times we would play it max each year.

My little nieces beg me to play cards with them, both below 9, before the dinner, i think they have a little of their fathers genes etc and i do my bit to keep them entertained.

They can play, especially evie. the next minute their mum is telling me i am turning them into addicts. what do you do...............

I have loads of old toys ,mostly bought from carboots over the last 30 years  tend to keep the ones in good nick ,have loads of old dinky and corgi cars most in their original boxes ,batman ,james bond ,green hornet etc ,but the one toy I could never afford as a kid but would have loved one was the Austin j40 pedal car a magnificent toy of its time and worth around £1400 -£2000 in good nick now ,if you can take the time to google it or youtoob it you may see what I mean !

Three card Brag was my favourite game as a kid.

I came across e bay for the first time a few years ago and most of my time on it since has been spent looking at toys, most recently Disney cars for my son but before that it was nearly all vintage toys, some retro ones from my own childhood and some more older ones which I just happened to come across.
Most of the time bought things I never even started looking at as you click on a sellers other items and you end up seeing something you were not looking for but like.
Not unusual if I had a good day at the office to go onto e bay and end up spending anything between a couple of hundred quid and well over a thousand in one night. Now I have a room literally full of old toys.
I think once you get to age 40 you want to have the old toys you never had as a child but more likely the old toys you did have as a child but have since lost. The toys you opened up on Christmas day and spent playing with your dad are not just toys - they are memories you never forget. And one of the only things I don't regret buying on e bay was an old game of super striker football, the one with the moulded sides and Wembley fast pitch surface which I got for Christmas in about 1980. Still get goosebumps remembering opening seeing my Christmas present that year and spent boxing day playing it with my daddy in between cheering on his horses on tv.
Well, i bought the game on e bay a few years ago and I think I paid £100 for it. I only ever had the original man utd and Newcastle teams which came with the original boxed set but I have now bought every single one of the teams which I never even knew existed. I even ended up finding the full set of 8 international teams which were in pristine condition in their original boxes. Each team cost something like £3 when new but I paid over £500 for them years later.
Keeping them until my son gets a little older and giving it to him.

unfortunately my kids( teenagers and older  now )show no interest in the old toys but I keep collecting and one of the great thrills is coming across stuff that I bought 20 or 30 years ago for a song form a carboot that I forgot a had ,I uncovered a plastic beatles toy guitar made in the 60s by selco has the bands faces and facilimile signatures on the front ,I just keep buying stuff as long as its reasonably cheap ,paddletoe if you can get to some decent carboots early in the morni ng you can pick up some real bargains ,bought a boxed simon game a few weeks back for £2

We have some very small car boot sales where i live but they are not anything like those you get in England such as the ones you see on tv. Would love to spend a whole day going around one of those. The one old toy I would like to get is a 1960's triang lotus f1 car. Before my era as a child but they don't makes things like that anymore. Seen a few of them on e bay but your talking about £1,000. And then there is the transport cost as am in n.ireland. Got a rocking horse for my wife two years ago and the delivery cost of it alone was £400.
