As much as I dislike DA I wouldn't go that far cooperman.
Salmond is in a league of his own and will forever be remembered as the man who split Scotland whilst failing to split the Union.

Whilst not particularly a fan on Salmond, he will be remembered as the man who started the inexorable march towards Scottish independence. The demographic of the 55/45 vote shows a huge bias towards the youth voting "Yes" as the aging population held the key to the "No" victory. I think Scotland will be independent in AS's lifetime.

I hope not.
Only 38% if the electorate voted in favour and hopefully some of them will come to their senses and realise we really are Better Together.
As for the young vote? Well wisdom comes with age so they will learn.

No it means that 62% didn't vote to leave.

As the vote was instigated by the SNPs quest for separation the onus was on them to win the voters over.
Obviously they failed with 62% of the electorate.

I thought the papers, in England, were totally anti Salmond.  Did any paper support independence?  What was it like in Scotland?  Did their versions of national papers support independence?  What about the Daily Record?

only one sunday paper supported independence. Everything else was rabid pro union

There was such an apetite for a pro independence daily that one has been created and apparently doing very well

All neutral in Scotland although the paranoid 38ers will say different.

Well if no paper was supporting independence then I reckon they did well to make it so close.  Of course loads of people read newspapers still, and loads read the websites of newspapers too.  Papers and their websites (and the beeb) are still the main source of news information for the large majority of people.

Yes this story is all about the niceness of this "honourable" man and nothing to do with him trying to get his attention seeking mug in the papers to try to look good with election to Westminster coming down the line.

Do you agree that Scotland should be an independent Country?

Only 38% agreed.

Therefore only 38% agreed and we have to presume those that didn't vote to agree, didn't agree. 62% didn't agree.
