I was going to say, the old lady in the house next door is 86, and she can hardly walk , I'm saying to my wife,
"Bassey is the same age as old Rose next door",, she did say, "fu ck off ", tho...

thought the whole show was pretty good, agree Bette Midler & Shirley Bassey were the class acts.  the worst act on the show was Sarah Millican, how anybody can go and watch her in stand-up for over 2 hours I have no idea !

seen Miss Saigon 3 times - and they have really polished it up with this new production back in the West End, it is a brilliant show, but unfortunately didn't think it came over well last night with the 2 excerpts they performed.

Watched Imagine about Midler a couple of weeks ago. Wasn't a fan beforehand and nowt's changed but it was interesting enough.

Been a Shirley fan for years, the girl can sing, unlike the majority of today's female popsters.

A little know fact-Ms Midler and her friend Carole Bayer Sager wrote Your Movin Out Today. They couldn't decide which of them should release it as a single, so they both issued versions. Carole had the big hit and BM only just about troubled the charts. I remember seeing Carole singing it on Top of the Pops at a time when they had to perform live backed by the Top of the Pops Orchestra. The song was truly mangled-very little resemblance to the record.

I hope this snippet of pop history enhances the music knowledge of all you young whippersnappers who think you know what music quality is!
