 I was going to say, the old lady in the house next door is 86, and she can hardly walk , I'm saying to my wife, "Bassey is the same age as old Rose next door",, she did say, "fu ck off ", tho... |

thought the whole show was pretty good, agree Bette Midler & Shirley Bassey were the class acts. the worst act on the show was Sarah Millican, how anybody can go and watch her in stand-up for over 2 hours I have no idea !
seen Miss Saigon 3 times - and they have really polished it up with this new production back in the West End, it is a brilliant show, but unfortunately didn't think it came over well last night with the 2 excerpts they performed. |

A little know fact-Ms Midler and her friend Carole Bayer Sager wrote Your Movin Out Today. They couldn't decide which of them should release it as a single, so they both issued versions. Carole had the big hit and BM only just about troubled the charts. I remember seeing Carole singing it on Top of the Pops at a time when they had to perform live backed by the Top of the Pops Orchestra. The song was truly mangled-very little resemblance to the record.
