^that title should guarantee quite a few views.Laugh

Garden waste goes in a brown bin.

The 'garden waste' lorry has just left the street.

The council workers are not allowed to come on to properties, so residents have to take the bin to the pavement.

This pillock lined up 5 bins across the road, ready for the lorry, that was reversing. He emptied all 5, then left them in the middle of the road and facked off ShockedLaugh

As we're in a cul-de-sac, and only 2 houses from the end, we see hardly any traffic.

This is still no reason to leave bins in the road.

The man in the corner house arrived home a few minutes ago, and he had to get out of his car to move them, to be able to get to his drive.

He's not a happy bunny Angry

I could tell by the way our bin ended up on the other side of the road.

Mrs CMAT will now have to walk an extra 12 paces to get it back in Laugh

I hope she makes me a cuppa first, I don't like to be kept waiting. Cool

We never get this problem with the 'green bin' man (recycling)

Or the 'dark grey' bin man (household rubbish)

or the 'light grey' bin man (food waste)

Bin men coming right into peoples gardens to get the bin then cart it out on their back seems a strange thing. Funny how attitudes change.

Thinly veiled, "I've got a garden" thread imo. Plain

Our local free paper a couple of years ago...

"Name and shame the people who exchange their scruffy bin for someone else's clean one"....

It isn't the residents that exchange their bins, but the stupid effing bin men, who are incapable of putting them back where they belong.
Report s.kenbo December 6, 2014 3:43 PM GMT
They sift through our bins for any reason not to empty them. I now have to put the right rubbish in the right bins!

I remember when we first moved up here in 2005, to March, Cambridgeshire.

After everything was unpacked there were loads of cardboard boxes to throw away.

I thought I'd do the binmen a favour, tied them up in bundles and put them in black plastic rubbish bags as it was spring, and rain would make a mess of the cardboard.

I looked out as the lorry pulled away, the idiot in charge of emptying them had taken all the cardboard and thrown the bags and string into a pile in the garden. I went out after the driver, who was two houses away, and asked him what the point of that was.

'We only take cardboard.' he said.

I said 'I'm not talking about the cardboard, why couldn't he put the bags and string in the right dustbin?'

'We're not allowed on your property' he said.

And it's the same here in Norfolk.

On a UK scale, yes, I suppose so.

Can't recall exactly where Eye is, but I did a days work there when I was 17 though.

We have got a 'glass' bin, but it doesn't hold much, and the council don't hsve a 'glass' collection vehicle.
Once a month it all goes into the 'Bottle Bank' in the local B&Q stores car park, which is about 5 miles away.
The official council dump is 5 miles further on.
Report Early Morning Riser December 13, 2014 11:56 AM GMT
we got, bin for plastic, bin for bottles, bin for cardboard, bin for paper, bin for tins/foil, bin for food waste, bin for household rubbish and £20 charge for taking household furniture upto 3 items or 1 whole bed.

We have to put foil in the household rubbish bin now, but it used to go into the 'recycling' bin.

Councils make a fortune from this recycling bollox,so much money they have spent a fortune on new wheelie bins. But they charge us now to collect our garden waste cuz they make fcuk all from green waste!! I recycle nothing, until the Council give me a cut they can fack off!!
Report Burton-Brewers December 14, 2014 12:50 AM GMT
some months our council can make as much as £50k on recycled stuff which they give to various charities, I just wish they would give it to charities in our county.

Coach', I have one re-cycling bin, with 2 sections. One is for cans, bottles, jars, food cans, aerosols foil etc. The other is for paper, cardboard catalogues etc.
