Bands that can not play instruments should be banned.

I have often thought that 'bands' played instruments, but 'groups' did not.

Include those who don't write their own songs.  If they don't play and they don't write then they are nothing more than glorified karaoke.

I keep refering to such acts as choirs,noway should they be described as a band.
