A hypocrite who bangs on and on about the number of immigrants in his beloved Newham but yet compounds the supposed problem by selling his property to one.

You couldn't make it up.

If there was an indigenous white family who were :

A) Mad enough to move INTO Newham from somewhere else

and

B) Willing to pay the asking price

they'd have got it.

But there's no such family, be easier to find a needle in a haystack.



You should have been here 10 years ago when there 28 on this forum alone that had either lived or worked there.

Now there are none.

And they know a lot more about Newham than you do.

There are not many 'desirable areas' in Newham, but one of them was Cumberland Road.

FYI, one of the houses I looked at 12 years ago was in this road, and a bargain at £105k. It was next door but one to my best mate (who has also now left the Borough) and was owned by an 88 year old widow. She had her visit from the Halifax, and they stuck their sign in her garden.

However, the first ones to view were Africans. Unbothered by being PC. she opened the door, took one look, said 'I'm not selling my house to you.' and closed the door.

The Halifax rep visited, and she said that if she was going to say things like that, they couldn't put their sign in the garden.

She told the rep 'I've been neighbours with next door for over 40 years, I wouldn't do that to them, so take your facking sign down.'

Mind you, the Halifax kept it on their books, they're not that PC.

I was interested to find out why callmeataxi had such strong views on immigration as he has lots of views on other things we would agree on. He kindly took the time to write me a long reply and I have to say I can see things from his point of view. He is not against immigration because he dislikes foreigners or people of different colours. He give lots of reasons why he has evolved his opinion on immigration over many years by the things which have happened in the place he comes from.

On the specific and sole issue of immigration I think the reason why ukip are attracting so many supporters is that on the whole when the people asking for their votes talk they do so with authenticity and a belief in what they are saying whether their views are wrong or wrong. When politicians from the other main parties talk they don't speak with the same beliefs. They will say anything at times. I think when ukip have to talk about other issues their supporters will not be so united in the way they are about immigration.
