He's almost the last of the old breed of Labour politicians.  What he said was stimulating but still rubbish.  We'll take any number of (genuinely) qualified surgeons.  And if you look at the ethnicity of the worst doctors/Dentists in the UK you'll find a distinct bias.  You guess in which direction.

As for the Labour front bench - when the quota for Tory candidates from the Oxbridge/London elite was filled the nozzle automatically switched to Labour/Lib Dem.

It's been alleged previously and never chalneged that Skinner always said he would retire when he got to a certain age to give a younger person a go in parliament. He didn't.
