It saddens me that our society continues to blame the victims
of the immorality and greed of the rich which led to the Credit Crunch perhaps they should remember 'there but for grace of God go I' |
By:
and despite all this smashing down on public service workers and benefits
we are still running at a deficit not only are the Tories evil they are fecking useless |
By:
Who are the victims ebul?
I paid taxes all my life and still do even though I'm retired. So am I a victim of the benefit cheats? |
By:
They do not cheat...I am so sorry for the rich HA HA HA HA!

Over the years I've known quite a few people who genuinely can't work because of a disability.
Unfortunately I've known quite a few who are at it. The malingerers must take their portion of the blame alongside everyone else who puts a strain on the economy one way or another. |
By:
That's exactly the point we have been making all along akabula. Any government of whatever hue would find itself in a difficult position regarding sorting out the con men from the genuine. The problem hasn't arisen because of the government or indeed ATOS. It has arisen because people are at it. Does it matter? In the grand scheme of things that may not. The point is that there are vast swathes of people earning a pittance for working hard and we really shouldn't rub their noses in it. They know nothing of the rich taking the pi55. They know plenty of their fellow citizens at the bottom making like a bandit.

Well why is our society not competing with Germany, where are all our industries?
To be fair that is a failure of all of our society is it not? The rich pay towards the upkeep of the poor, that is it with me. Our failure rests with everybody |
By:
That's a big issue ebul and a mixture of poor management in the 50's, dinosaur unions and the fact that Germany and Japan spent their Marshall Plan money on upgrading their industrial base and we spent ours on forming the NHS. We put the cart before the horse and paid the price.

Someone earning 20k and contributing 3000 tax is making a bigger sacrifice than someone earning 2million and paying 800,000 tax, not in monetary terms of course but in regards to their solvency and how it effects their overall standard of living.
Sure there are folk who are able to work but don`t want to, but why should genuinely disabled and sick people be penalised and suffer because of a minority? We all know people who are genuine people who have been victims of the Tory cuts and this is morally wrong imo. |

Can't see any posts suggesting that the genuinely disabled should be penalised. |
By:
Not referring to posts but to Tory policy and IDS in particular. They are evil and don`t care about the poor, sick and disabled. All Tories care about is MONEY. I`m All Right Jacks the lot of them.

By:
Only genuine claimants are suffering from these cut backs, as you`ll find that the "fraudsters" are "streetwise" and know how to beat the system, just like the rich who know how to dodge their taxes.

According to Crippen's figure, of the first tranche of assessments 37% were found fit to work. I'd imagine the net will have caught an awful lot of people trying it on in that enormous group.

Here's some more figures from over two years ago relating to the sick lame and lazy brigade:
Previously more than 2.6 million claimed Incapacity Benefit, at a cost of £12 billion a year to the taxpayer. But in an attempt to make the replacement scheme more rigorous, applicants now undergo the WCA, which can require them to undergo a face-to-face medical assessment and provide a report from their doctor. But government figures have shown that more than nine out of 10 people who claimed the new sickness benefit have been deemed fit enough to work. More than a third of the 1.3 million people who applied for Employment and Support Allowance were found to be fully capable of working. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/9436969/Disability-tests-sending-sick-and-disabled-back-to-work.html It doesn't say however if the figures relate to temporary illness claims or long term claims. |
By:
There's obviously a deep rooted problem with people lying about their health simply to get extra benefits.

youre so fecking blind to whats going on not to mention actual posts on this thread, the entire thread was written in relation to the genuinely ill, who are genuinely being made to suffer, some dying, at the hands of a socially evil, and corrupt gov't.
By:
Tony, that's not much of an argument is it?
I present figures from a national newspaper that can be readily checked, and all you come back with is that. |
By:
^That referred to your previous post.
By:
If you'll look at the link I supplied, you will see that the article also backs up your claim that genuine cases are being wrongly treated.
By:
yes, loads of them - 70 people a week now dying within a very short space of time after being told bt dwp that theyre 'fit for work' this far far outweighs any fraud, and the fraud there is doesnt matter when comparing it to even one death...70 people a week! but perhaps its all a big coincidence.
By:
How many of them would have died anyway?
How many of them were lying about their illness anyway? Should we simply take everyone's word for it that they're too Ill to work for fear that they might kill themselves if they're refused benefit? It's the sheer weight of cases that is causing the errors. That will correct itself as we weed out the cheats and only the genuine cases apply for help. |
By:
It seems very odd that a number of these reported deaths were among people who had family nearby.
Which does nothing for their credibility. |

Dr Crippen
28 Nov 14 11:06 Here's some more figures from over two years ago relating to the sick lame and lazy brigade: Previously more than 2.6 million claimed Incapacity Benefit, at a cost of £12 billion a year to the taxpayer. What you haven't taken into consideration is the number of people signing on as unemployed, who were advised by Jobcentre staff to go on to incapacity benefit. This was done in order to reduce the 'official' figure of those claiming unemployment benefit. You could happily spend your while working life doing heavy manual labour, but if you got made redundant, if you're over 50 in this country with no skills at all, you'll be lucky to find another job. This means you could be officially unemployed for up to 15 years, which of course, is no good for govt figures. You'll find that your high figure of returners to work (chucked off incapacity benefit) was more than likely most of this group. They only have to hold a job down for a week, get sacked, and they're back on JSA, but not incapacity benefit, hence the lower figure for claimers. |
By:
Take a random sample of 300,000 people, and around 70 a week of that sample will die every week.
People claiming ( whether genuinely or not ) to be sufficiently incapacitated to be excused not having to actively seek work number over a million, i think it's over 2.6 million from Dr C's number. And they are not a random sample. |

The death of Jacqueline Harris is another suicide we can lay firmly at the door of the Department for Work and Pensions.
This poor woman, a former nurse who suffered chronic pain in her back after an accident at work, in her hand after a dog bite, and partial blindness due to a head injury, took her life after the DWP axed her incapacity benefit after a one-question work capability assessment. The question? “Can you get on a bus?” The coroner’s verdict was suicide but we should all know that she would not have taken her life if her Atos assessor and the DWP had recognised the seriousness of her condition. They may well suggest that Ms Harris had mental instability that led her to suicide – shouldn’t the assessor have identified that? Responsibility clearly lies with the Atos assessor, with the company that employed this person, with the DWP for distributing the (clearly inadequate) rules they followed and with the government ministers who approved and enforced those rules. The charge should be corporate manslaughter and the evidence is irrefutable. Here’s the Western Daily Press report to prove it: A half-blind widow racked with pain took a fatal cocktail of drugs after a controversial fitness test ruled her OK to work and her incapacity benefit was axed. Former nurse Jacqueline Harris, 53, pinned a suicide note to her pyjamas and left post-it notes on her belongings saying who should get them after her death. Despite being in constant agony she was declared fit to work after a cursory check by ATOS, the Government-appointed benefits assessors. Speaking at the time of her death, her sister Christine [Norman] said during this ‘two-minute’ hearing in August 2012 she was asked only one question – whether she could catch a bus – and her incapacity benefit was scrapped. Devastated Jacqueline pleaded with the government workers, explaining she was waiting for a complex operation, but she was ignored. Her sister added: “She knew she wasn’t going to get any help. She was waiting for a review date for an appeal. I knew she wasn’t going to wait till this date.” Christine said: “Her life really had no meaning. She just could not cope with the pain. “Everything was an effort and she was in serious pain. “She detested her existence. Disempowered, she wanted to die.” A statement from Atos passed the buck onto the DWP. Responsibility lies with everybody involved in the chain of events that led to Ms Harris’s death. Perhaps someone should organise a funeral parade past Caxton House, with coffins representing all the known DWP-related suicides since 2010, one of them might get the point. But even this is doubtful. When will these people get justice? |
By:
so u actually, genuinely, watch and lsiten to IDS and the rest and think theyre doing a good job, and theyre not cvunts? i mean, seriously?
By:
Yes mate, they all are. ***** that is. Give IDS a phone, his number is Westminster 666.
By:
It makes you wonder where Tony keeps digging up these heart breaking tales from. Somebody must be feeding him the stuff.
I don't believe any of the deaths recorded ( that's if they're true) are any responsibility of the DWP at all. That case above mentions a woman who was suffering and took her own life. What's that got to do with the DWP? |
By:
Poor Broke Tony. His obsession is clearly a form of mental illness. Perhaps he will cite this thread when he goes for his WCA with ATOS.
By:
Hardly likely, ATOS got the sack 8 months ago.
By:
@ Tony:
Re- Jacqueline Harris, you are aware presumably that between the disgraceful if true 2-min assessment and her suicide there was a gap of 15 months. During that gap period: -she had a spine operation which failed -loss of benefit income was minimal -she got a lot of psychiatric help There's a lot of factors in suicide, but excruciating pain has to be the big one. |
By:
^That's Tony Broke's credibility in shreds.
By:
atos did not get the sack - wrong. They pulled out of the original assessments owing to lack of viable profits, how very caring of them, however, they now assess people for pip instead.
With ref to above lady and every other death cited. How remarkably coincidental that every single case has come relatively shortly after assessments, I would have to read up again about time period for above lady, and there's always a possibility she had had enough, tho i believe the decision over benefits could have still been the final straw...the others were t anything like so long. AND U MISS THE POINT!! as usual with blinkered imbeciles who stand up for a party which the british public is now beginning to see for that it truly is. The point is these twuts have been attacking the poor, sick, disabled for some time, anyone can see it. and so can you. Fuking them over whilst handing out increasing profits to themselves when they don't deserve it. EVERY single death has coincidentally had either letters from dwp or family and friends giving reasons for those deaths, even ONE death related to benefit stopping is outrageous. No one, no one at all in this country should ever be punished with a threat of starvation, and that is happening in ever-increasing volumes. And also, do NOT assume you can ever fuking comment on how the less well off live unless you can empathise yourself, you literally have no idea, and u, like the troy cvunts who are killing people, do not live in the real world. They dont stand a chance of winning the election, none whatsoever. And if they did thee rd be riots all over the country ..and ill be leading them. |
By:
btw it's ok eeternal opt.. you can report the post to the police.
By:
Tony, are you the chap who thought that the world was going to end in 2008?
By:
no!
but seriously poker whats that got to do with anything posted - r u saying because of that then the above has no relevance? btw bongo with ref to jacqueline above, atos didnt recognise this lady's mental difficulties, and the fact that they stopped her disability allowance was still outrageous. |

Im standing up for others - is that a crime on here?
