I'd rather watch the Queen's speech on loop.

I like virtually any travel programme but the beeb really are testing me getting this monstrosity to present it.
Report The Leopard November 9, 2014 8:08 PM GMT
TY....Rob
Report SlippyBlue November 9, 2014 8:34 PM GMT
Could be worse rob, it could have been Clare Balding the Beeb sent instead. I like all travel programmes as well, The Lonely Planet was a favourite when presented by Ian Wright.
Report The Leopard November 9, 2014 8:39 PM GMT
BBC have over-exposed Sue....don't watch Bake Off so has not affected me.
Report Mikael D'Haguenet November 9, 2014 8:41 PM GMT
5 minutes would have been over-exposure. I like 'monstrosity.' I even prefer the ubiquitous Balding!

Mikky: is it lost? As i said early in that fred i hadn't seen it for years, but did have a scrapbook when i was a nipper and 'that' pic was innit, pretty sure i got it out of the Sporting Chron..
Report Mikael D'Haguenet November 9, 2014 9:06 PM GMT
Dunno G2D, but this was from the thread...

http://pitmacbooks.com/photo-gallery/

Is it not the photo of pendil on the same link above, 4 photos from the bottom ?

Mikael D'Haguenet     08 Nov 14 22:26
Tis a long time since I saw the Byrne pic, WFT, but I'm fairly sure that that pic that you, me and seaview have all linked, is NOT it. The one comment on that page would suggest as much also...

Some great photos evoking great memories (well mostly).

Still looking for Ed Byrne’s photo of you and Pendil. Definitely an iconic phot but seemingly lost. I had a copy of it (very small) in an old Haig Handicap Annual but alas that is lost too.

Pendil….still love the horse.
Report SlippyBlue November 9, 2014 9:07 PM GMT
I must be honest g2d and admit that I ducked the outright price and did them on the handicap. As good as Ireland were it was a very messy performance by S.A. littered with mistakes and giving away silly penalties. Still, it was a very pleasing game to watch and we totally deserved the thumping win.

Anyway, back to Sue Perkins..I stuck with it as Dallas were long beyond recall but she is extremely unconvincing to me as a presenter and lacking in any tangible charisma.
Report guinness2dear November 9, 2014 9:09 PM GMT
I still would
Report guinness2dear November 9, 2014 9:11 PM GMT
Ah there you go Mikky. Had to be a reason for it not being about anywhere.

Ed is still about i believe, so if i ever bump into him again on course i will ask for a copy (if he has one hidden away) - just for your good self..

Not the same as watching it on the TV, tho'.

Anyway, I've just found a repeat later in the week.

He can't stand Sue Perkins but the programme looks so good he's just going to have to put up with her.
