The thing is there are no WW1 survivors and WW2 survivors are dwindling fast. So where does the money go? Does it go to help people injured in Iraq? the iraq war wasnt protecting england, in fact you could argue that it helped cause 7/7 and certainly helped cause their current problems.

It is our politicians who start wars. Our soldiers do the dirty work. Soldiers have committed to defend this country, they cannot make judgements on the wars we fight. I to wish we could live in a world where we resolve our disputes peacefully But until we do, we need our military to protect us, that is reality. |

What do you think would have happened if nobody though it worth fighting for us in 2 World Wars.
The Germans would have walked in, occupied us. They would have treated us exactly how they felt. Nobody in this country could have done a thing, unless we were prepared to fight. Our country would not even exist without our soldiers, sailors and airmen. |

But this country has been attacking Muslim countries for over 20 years. I am afraid Muslims empathize with them, not us. But it is not our soldiers who are to blame, as far they are concerned they are protecting us. And I believe dying to protect one countries is a noble cause. The fault lies with our politicians who have continued to lie to us, backed by a corrupt media. Sadly people believe them....frankly I have yet to hear a word of truth from either of them. |

I give donations to every poppy fundraiser I pass in the street but I always politely decline a poppy as I have never worn one.
