Sounds like I am in a cave - when I turn the sound bar up past 50 like an echo coming through the screen. Can hear myself type!

I am distinctly average with these things but I can see one of my drivers entitled PCI DEVICE has a yellow exclamation mark , next to it. I may need to update the driver but how do I go about updating it?

I have a Sony Vaio - Can any tech guys help, driving me mad with constant echo.

Does your realtek software have sound effects on it? If so it may be a setting on that causing the strange sound.

You should be a ble to access it via the system tray (bottom right of screen by the clock) - or via the control panel - Start > Control Panel > Sound
