Work Programme Mission (typed word for word).

Activity - Customer (me) will find 3 jobs he can do (do not have to be advertised) and bring the details to the next meeting (today). We will then apply for them/send spec letters in the meeting.

Meanwhile, i'm still badgering my Dr/Neurosurgeon in a quest to get to the bottom of my neurological* condition Confused

*I must refrain from calling it a back condition.
Report DartsnBooze • October 29, 2014 9:25 AM GMT
P.S. I was one of many booted of ESA by ATOS test lies, and my JSA agreement is to apply for at least 1 part time job per week, up to a maximum of 4hrs per day, 16hrs per week in total. I apply for any part time jobs i feel i could do and don't have a problem with the WP doing their best to get me back into employment, (even WP employees have targets) but if I broke an agreement i'd be sanctioned. I.E. - Apply for 3 jobs today.

P.P.S. For you anti unemployed - Go **** yourselves with your self righteous condescending  comments! It's my thread, i have a medical condition, I want to be fit and healthy ffs. As i'm not part of the Royal Family i have been cast aside. Perhaps one of you betfair multi millionaires will pay privately for all my tests, thus getting me 100% cherry ripe and off the dole and back into work? As i'm a nice guy i would give you first refusal to sponsor me on the PDC Darts Pro Tour*.

I will post an update following today's WP meeting.

*Even former workaholics who are now unemployed due to someone elses incompetence still hold positive dreams.

things are going to get much worse im afraid. wife has waited and waited for medical with regard to pip, the places u have to go when u do eventually go are quite often way out, involving near-impossible journeys, if you are in pain its ok though, getting 3 buses etc. Quite a few have been refused, then been accepted only if they appeal, giving the impression this shyte, uncaring gov' are hoping youll give up, and thus save money, like they have from the bedroom tax. and many people such as yourself attending these work prog schemes have been diagnosed with rheum arthritis, even parkinsons, but they have to find a job, nonetheless.
This gov't despise the poor, they pretend theyre trying to help people into work, which is lies, they want to save money, they want to steal it from the poorest members of society.

I went along to my uncles interview a few years back, he was being assessed as to whether he should be looking for work.

He was 58 and had suffered a series of strokes over a 3 year period, the first being in Canada after a long flight, the cause apparently DVT. Followed by another 2 strokes over the next 3 years. He lost his vision in his right eye as well as being unsteady on his feet as many people who had suffered strokes are. However he remained upbeat and positive with a sharp sense of humour. He had always been a grafter, a gamekeeper and farm worker by profession.

During the interview(i was there as his witness) the woman asked him how his condition restricted him work wise, after he had explained and i backed him up she suggested he would be fine to drive a tractor in a big open fieldShocked. We explained that he would have to get the tractor to the big open field, blind in one eye while unsteady with his equilibrium and dodging other farm workers, vehicles and buildings along the way.

She believed it could was possible. Cry

I think she may have been a little naive as regards farm work. Maybe you could suggest that SHE would be ideally suited to country living and your Dad could soon get the hang of asking pointless questions and offering inane possible solutions. A 'job-swap' would sort it out! SadSad

I am pleasantly surprised to see no sign of Thatcher's Children on here ~ yet. Yesterday's pointless WP exercise involved taking 3 jobs i could do to the meeting with my case manager/advisor. Two were spec letters, the third was a part time job for 4.5hrs per week (not per day). What kind of business employs someone for 4.5hrs per week??? Holland and Barrett, that's who. If i get the job i would come off the government's Unemployment fiddled figures yet still receive benefits?

Allow me to digress, On my very first day at the Work Programme i was told by my advisor in a stern voice, "there will be times when we will fall out."  Not only did she not know about my medical condition, she didn't give a sh!t! From that moment on i lost all respect for her. A few months later we had a row in front of everyone. She told me there was nothing wrong with me and it was all in my mind. IDS would be so proud of her. What a heartless bitch! (How i wished she was right).

Future Activities - I will attend an Employability Skills Course on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9:30 - 16:00. To have support in CV Writing, Confidence, and Motivation.

WALOFS.

A Team Leader on and off since mid 80's, plus self employed business venture? Yet i have to attend these pointless activities, or i'll be sanctioned. No apathy or understanding of individual needs. Confused

DnB

As you have previous self employed business venture previously why not consider a sole venture to get yourself off their official figures? trade in whatever you desire, even if it is unsuccessful you will get your benefits.

My mate was in a similar position, his head exploded at one of those pointless activities you mention. He still gets benefits for running a business that makes jack shyte but the heat is off him from the benefits facists.

You are not allowed to edit this post. Please go back.

Just as well i copied and saved it then.

Been rather busy with the darts on the box this weekend (had an incredible climax too) and checking up my self employment options. Mainly been researching the WP and the ongoing unemployment/disability situation for which myself and others are in. Found lots of fascinating facts and will attend tomorrow's Work Programme "Internal Activity" with an open mind. (Do my best to keep my gob shut in the presence of the parasites, and divulge as little as possible). One thing i need to do is ask to read through the form i signed on friday. I didn't mention it here in my previous post as i'd already droned on long enough - Had toothache and needed to see my dentist and felt awful at the WP. I answered a host of questions, and my advisor filled in the form, then i signed it without knowing what had been written? I'd normally insist on reading though stuff like that and fill it in at my own leisure. I'd better not be late tomorrow or i'll need the food back.

Here's a link to the Work Programme file as layed out in Parliament:
(It may be of use to some, and to those with nothing better to do)

I have been busy slating the tories and their subhuman policies on their own facebook page, for all he good it'll do. Absolutely despise all they stand for, worse than when thatch was around imo.I am classes as self employed, yet I have a mentor, because I don't make enough money, so any attempt to receive exemption from bedroom tax, and, no doubt in future once universal credit takes hold, housing benefit itself will be a nightmare to claim, because the job centre are taking over housing benefit from the council. I have been pressurised into a maths course, an upcoming confidence building course, and had to visit a location 5 miles away just to go on a laptop in order to update my CV. This is all for someone who is working. I can see a future time, should this horrible crowd win the election, when all housing benefit will actually stop. Don't know what will become of the poorest members of society then. I feel fro you, D&B id hate to have to attend all that shyte, but I feel even I may have to and sooner than I think. Perhaps I too should think about some other form of self employment, though I don't know what, as it would need to probably give me more than enough to cover rent, and all the other bills I cant really afford.

That really is a totally ridiculous statement. Why not look at the Uk welfare budget over recent years and you will find the massive cuts to it simply dont exist.
Report Tony Broke • November 3, 2014 12:03 PM GMT
so the tories haven't saved any money from the bedroom tax then. Try telling the disabled who no longer have any securities whatsoever, many of them like the poster above are becoming even more ill when they have to worry whether they're entitled to pip even when for eg. they have rheumatoid arthritis and Parkinson's. here is a site called black triangle you'd do well to take a look at, instead of searching for welfare budgets. On that site you will find the increasing number of deaths caused DIRECTLY by these cvunts in power.
Blue badges are being refused all over the place, theyre trying their utmost to get as many people off benefits as possible even when they're fecking dying. I honestly don't know how any decent person can vote for them, because this gov't are murderers.

ESG - The Employment and Skills Group
http://esguk.com/jobseekers/

Day 1 of 3:

I just couldn't help myself. No decent upstanding person would put up with this kind of attitude from the DWP rep running this sham of an exercise, at the taxpayers expense.

"Listen (O'brien syndrome) guys, we're now in the 11th month of the year and no one in the group has had more than three interviews this year."  The down beating patronising and condescending nature of the power crazed woman continued...need i go on?

What started out as polite and friendly chat soon changed once the rep revealed her true colours, and capped it by being a "proud" daily mail reader. I had enough of filling in unnecessary questions linked to hypothetical situations and job positions i'd never be able to do now, like working on a building site. It's like saying i could become a professional footballer (and i'm 48).

We should have finished at 4pm today, but unknown to us we completed our assignment by 2pm. Rep said we can go early but date and sign out as 4pm.(She gets paid til then). I declined, saying it was deceitful and i wrote 14:00. Please herself if she changes it. Not my problem. Don't give them something they could use against you in the near future.

Finally, we were asked to leave comments in our booklets (optional). Anything goes but no swearing. I was rather polite with mine..."This course is a total waste of time and taught me nothing i don't already know about how to write a CV, present myself to a perspective employer and my strengths and weaknesses." What it did show me was there's no help or guidance to someone struggling to overcome an illness or disability."

I will most probably be red ringed as an anti conforming nonentity. Like sh!t stuck to the bottom of IDS' shoe.

Welcome to the heartless world of the conservative capitalism ideal, where being mentally ill, old or disabled is not only frowned upon, it's worthy of execution.

More of the same tomorrow...though we were pre warned (like i give a feck) there will be lots of 'written,' not typed spec letter writing. Good luck cajoling me into that one.

Day 2 to follow...
