I didn't realise the iphone 5s automatically deletes your photos after a period of time. 
Seems I've lost a ton of photos. I managed to recover some under a "recently deleted" folder, but most are gone (from earlier period).
Any idea how to get these back ? Or am I bugg.ered ?

why is it that Apple products are the most expensive and yet have by far the most threads with people having problems with them? in fact I dont think I have ever seen an 'android problem' thread?
