A customer orders an iphone and printer and they're packaged together??? No one's in and the courier left no card (a minimum basic rule for drivers)...Next day a courier attempted to deliver the package again. No one's in for a 2nd day running (the customer had left instructions to be phoned on the day of delivery. Another glaring error). The package is left with a neighbour who shortly after notices a hole in package and goes out to the driver, who has already left.
The items were ordered from John Lewis, who turned a blind eye to every attempt the customer made to get answers, with no joy. Customer gets in touch with the police. As it now becomes a police matter they take over the case and JL waive the data protection card. "We can't do anything, yadda yadda." This went on for over 1 year as both the customer and neighbour are under police suspicion. (What about JL and the Courier company employees)?
Surprise Surprise. The case is aired on national tv "Rip off Britain" and the customer not only received an iphone replacement from JL but £100.00 and a bunch of flowers. Neighbour also received flowers. These parasite companies think they're above the law - Bastards! JL apologised profusely, thus preserving their good name and preventing a PR disaster.
City Link (who were the courier) found no evidence of an employee stealing the goods and have now introduced training so drivers leave a card if a customer isn't in.

Training? This is routine knowledge of a courier driver...makes my blood boil. So what happened to the package? For starters, why were the items sent together, furthermore, in a huge jiffy bag, and how big was the hole??? Another light fingered opportunist scum bag.
The smaller the depot the more scrutiny is on the drivers. Someone would have been interrogated where i worked for sure. Could have been one of the sorters or simply lost in the transport chain from main national depot to small local depot? The driver would surely have noticed a hole when scanning parcels onto the van? Could have become ripped in transit even? Or an opportunist thief who saw the driver making a deliver made a quick grab at what just happened to be a torn package from an unlocked van and got extremely lucky? Many possibilities. Where's Poirot? Rant over. |

over the course of my life, I have found that people with too much time on their hands complain, whine and get overly wound up over the the most insignificant things... Pensioners, dolelites, benefit scroungers and my misses come to mind....
