Oh .. Ok then .. you should buy a blender immediately & start living off carrot & swede juice smoothies , with just a small fruit cocktail before bed for desert .. you should also start jogging twice a day to one of those i-pod programmes & start to buy a sneaky womans magazine like Hello .. or more appropriately OK .. once per week when nobodies looking in asda .. You'll be fit as a fiddle within 2 months

The smoothies advice is sound. I'm twice a week for dinner. The next day is always the days I feel best.
And bin the takeaways or replace some the with Sushi.
And stop smoking. You'll save money and feel better.

Eat all bran or something for breakfast and don't eat after 2 hours till bed. Cardio first thing before breakfast is meant to be good for you but I can't do anything until I eat

Join a squash club that has a big league system. Start at the bottom and, if you havent played before you will still get beat at first, see if you can get mates to play with too to improve until you win your first league game, when you find someone in your league you can have a good game with try to arrange a few friendlies too, as you play more and more league games you will get more and more "friendly" contacts which means you get more and more games in and you will get better and better and hopefully move up the leagues. Soon you will have enough contacts to play, if you wish, five times a week. That is what I did and I am now in the top league. Of two. Every one who plays squash loves it so miles more fun than eating smoothies and lots of people hate running. Also aim to walk around a lot, instead of using the car.

You don't play squash to get fit. You get fit to play squash, otherwise you will hate it and get nowhere.
Ok, when you are fit squash is a fantastic game and will keep you super fit.
Look at some of the wirey old guys who are still playing in their seventies.
I played every day and many times twice a day. As was said you soon build up a group of like minded players and have no problem arranging a game every day, and then when you are reasonably skilled, join the "Mini Leagues.
Only issue there is the girls are useless to organise a game with, and I got more "wins" by default because of this.

Who says you dont play squash to get fit? I have heard this before, igot really fit playing it, used to be a wreck after 30 mins when I started now regularly play over an hour and still going strong. In fact my main advantage over far more skilled players is speed and fitness now. Great fun too.

Don't run before you can walk. Last 4 weeks I've made sure I've walked or cycled at least 5 hours each week, which usually consists of approx 3 2 hour shifts. I feel better for it. Just doing that I've lost around 5 to 7 lbs from just over 12 stone to just under. Eating protein and fruit or vegetables and you won't put on weight however much you eat. Potatoes rice cereal cakes biscuits and bread will put on weight. Basically the cheap stuff that fills you up quicker will put on weight. Sausage eggs bacon tomatoes mushrooms and beans will put on less weight than cereal and toast. A lot more expensive but you can pay for it by knocking back the ****

Schalke, I seem to remember you saying you go to bed at 05:00 and don't get up till 17:00.
Now, aside from the fact that I'm assuming you have some interest on BF, other than the forum, when do you plan to partake in an exercise regime that will be beneficial?

Fit to do what? Aerobically fit? Improve your strength? Flexibility? Co-Ordination? Posture?
From what you're saying, you want to lose weight, which should, in the process, improve your aerobic fitness (stamina for want of a better word). You should want to lose this weight and then keep it off, which means lifestyle tweaks (for ever) as opposed to something 'faddy' that will let you hit your goal okay, probably very quickly.....and then regress just as quickly when you find it impossible to maintain your fad for a sustained period.
If you start out with the correct basic template and goal (think about what you are trying to achieve for the rest of your life, rather than just 'by Christmas' say, then the rest should follow on from there.
There's actually some sound and practical advice in the above posts.
