"At its peak the bank debt stood at about £900m, Sir David said last year. It was reduced by £23m in the year to June 2013."

He will go down in Scottish Football History for his remark
"For every £5 Celtic spend, Rangers will spend £10" |
|
By:
Brightened up Scottish football when he first arrived.
Should be a benefit match for him. |
|
By:
Wouldn't worry about him I'm sure he's still got a few mill left over from his EBT.
|
|
By:
How to do it, eh?

What a dreadful society we live in. People who live in luxury get 900 million written off and the same bank employ debt collectors to hound pensioners and people living on the breadline for a couple of grand owed on loans and credit cards.

Mac we're having a whip round for Sir David.
Chaser is organising it and says he'll put a tenner in for every fiver you put in. Some guy is Chaser, his catalogue sales must be on the up (wouldn't have thought anne summers would be popular in parkhead). ![]() |

The old adage rings true that if you owe the bank a £1 you have a problem, if you owe them a £million, they have a problem.
Typically I see the assets that were left were seemingly transferred 'arms length' to the family business, just enough to move from one pocket to the other then, whilst leaving massive debts behind to be written off. It's great how the rich get to keep their money and assets no matter what isn't it? |
|

They mentioned a problem with the pensions too...there was a 20 sec. news clip on bbc - Sally Mag reading the news...oh well, that's that done with, eh? Only the 900,000,000 squidoolees was it? Not yer average sort o' heist...
![]() Has this guy's financial adventures been reported in England at all? So much for "Protestant superiority complex" or "Protestant supremacy" or whatever Uncle Wattie was meant to have said. Guy in the Herald comments section said BOS was known as the "Proddie Bank". Lovely. "Wid ye like a jam scone wi' yer tea meenester?" Hey, relax - Craig Whyte is the real villain here...nothing to see...move on... |

The pensions paid will be higher than those that would come from the governments pension protection fund for insolvent companies.
And of course MIM becoming insolvent is the first case of this the world has known, eh Velasquez, and what's with the religious element, is this a proddie thing? ![]() Bigot. |
|
By:
No, not I - I'm just quoting the lad on the Herald forum - as I said. BTW, Bob Crampsey complained about BOS recruitment when he was a headmaster.
We all know where the true bigots are in Glasgow. I say this as someone who has read and loved Jan Huss...and read Calvin and Huldrych Zwingli. |

"We urra peeple!"
95% of them don't have a clue what it means - do you, Akabula ; do you? I blame the schools... ![]() |

Lots of theories on this such as came from apartheid south Africa or from the end of the 19th century re the masses who fled Ireland to come here.
Both these explanations, and others, are put about to give the term a derogatory meaning whilst the real source is very simple. It originated from a song glorifying the footballing deeds of Rangers which ended with We are the people who support Glasgow Rangers. Very similar, albeit Rangers was much better, to the Celtic ditty we are celtic supporters ..... So nothing sectarian in it which is the handle that most celtic supporters try to give it. |
|
By:
No...honestly...think about this...it's a Protestant expression...am I really going to have to explain this to you...?
"We are THE people..." |
|
By:
I STILL BLAME the SCHOOLS...
![]() |

By:
That's the meaning that people looking to be offended take from it.
It's a Rangers thing. |
|
By:
No it's not - it's a Protestant thing...and beyond...
![]() Anyway, Rangers ceased to exist some years ago. |

Anyway, Rangers ceased to exist some years ago.
You jeep telling yourself that Vel. Meanwhile back in the real and none bigoted world FIFA, UEFA and the SFA (must stick in liewells throat) recognise Rangers as the worlds most successful club team. You know Vel, we really are the people. ![]() |
|
By:
But Akabula - Aka, man
- how can they be "the world's most successful club team" when they HAVE NOT won the European Champions' Cup / Champions' League...NOT AT ALL - EVER, like and Real Madrid have won it...you know, like...just the 10 times. X 10"Rangers - died chasing LIONS." ![]() |
|
By:
Anyway, here is a post from Bill McMurdo's blog - I take it that's Bill McMurdo Jnr...well known Rangers man :
"Rangers FC is not, in reality, a Protestant team, particularly in the secularised world of 2012. There are probably very few Rangers fans who are Protestants in the sense that Calvin, John Knox and the Covenanters were Protestants i.e. evangelical Christians. Rangers, sadly, have “proddie” fans who know nothing of the historic Protestant faith." -------------- ![]() |

You must be desperate visiting that blog ffs, nearly as bad as philthegobchytes blog.

The phrase "We are the people" is a historical idea derived from Calvinism, a type of classical Protestantism. It's called THE DOCTRINE OF ELECTION whereby Protestants believe they are saved "by faith ALONE in Jesus Christ."
So there you are Aka - you are now amongst the 5% of Teddy Bears who actually understands whit they ur singin'! Still, how you can stoop to defending Lord Sir Daft Minty Moonbeams is beyond me...very sad...typical Gers fan doffing his cap to the man in the big hoose...a Mason rather than a good Protestant...right, I'm aff tae spend a fiver at the garage...that means you hiv tae spend a tenner...don't forget tae hide £8 in the EBT and double contracts...and the off-shore shell companies... |

Ye went BUST, man - liquidated - you were lucky they even let you in at all...you should have started in Junior football...at least then Ally might have won a cup final.
Yes, you went bust, owing all those small business people like florists, face-painters, newsagents, clowns, etc...it's a wonder the real Rangers fans can sleep at night...but there they are, sleeping, sleeping, dreaming, DREAMING ...of the big European Cup they could never even get close to, no matter how much of the public's money they spent... |
