No more Drinking Drugs or Gambling ,Osborne is introducing this ,shirley the high street Roulette shops will go skint Now you know why there are so many evictions every month in the UK. The govt changed the rules of payment for the DWP. Housing Benefit is no longer paid to the landlord, it's paid to the tenant, and it's up to him/her to pay the landlord. There will be a percentage that won't pay, and they will be evicted. It's just a new way of getting private landlords to turn away unemployed people. Then they can put the rent up as there is no cap on private rental with no Housing Benefit. As for those who are evicted, what do the govt care? They won't be homeless and on the street where those that voted for it live. |

How this would work in practice is beyond me. You need money in your bank account anyway for things like direct debits (phone bill etc). Would every train station, bus driver, taxi driver etc have the means to take payment from one of these cards? Sounds extremely complicated and unnecessary

They did exceedingly well with the cost of hiring ATOS to get all those on incapacity benefit back to work.
They lost the contract 6 months ago. Hardly surprising, given the cases like the one on BBC news the other day. Man had his benefit stopped in 2011. He booked an appointment for an appeal which took 6 months, but when he turned up for it, it was on the first floor of a building with no lift. He was in a wheelchair. ATOS considered his wheelchair a fire hazard, so they refused to see him. Due to ATOS being ****ns, the backlog in cases was horrendous. His benefit was reinstated just last week. FWIW - I read somewhere that ATOS were chosen for his role as they are a French company, and you can't get any info from them under the Freedom Of Information Act. Whether that's true or not I have no idea. |

What these clowns need to be looking at is the Gross Fraud and Illegal loans that were made that got us into this trouble .
The HMRC have no problems going back years Looking for Unpaid taxes ,It would not be too hard to go back and retrieve Bonus Payments that were made to people who clearly had very little interest who they were lending money to ,as long as they reached their hefty bonus targets ,Millions if not Billions could have been clawed back ,But then of course they would be upsetting the Wrong people .... As for housing benefit cuts I actually believe they are trying Financial Cleansing of London ,it will become a town where only the very well off can live ,Rents are Rediculous, as for the Property Prices who in there right mind would pay £300,000 for a one bedroom Flat  |

IDS & ATOS in one thread - Two of my favourite topics
 ATOS - I liken them to a call centre. Both merely follow a set list of questions in a zombie like fashion. I too waited 6 months for my appeal (esa). Nothing but a bunch of ****! I still have my appeal papers (i'll go get them) that include the original seering ATOS questionaire. Here's a selection: "Can you lift at least one of your arms high enough to put something in your top pocket?" "Can you move 50 metres before you need to stop?" "Can you pick up and move a pink of milk?" "Can you pick up and move a light object like an empty box?" "Can you press a button on a telephone keypad?" "Can you turn the page of a book?" "Can you pick up a pen/pencil/£1 coin/?" In my ATOS test i scored zero points in total. 15 points was the target. The following week i received a letter stating i was no longer entitled to esa. Did i mention the questionaire arrived in the post when i was in hospital having a back operation?  |

this govt is just as bad as the Nazis, seriously and in some ways, even worse because they are actually ATTACKING the most vulnerable members of society and even creating a society where those on any kind of benefit are being regarded as criminals.
Osbourne is immoral, not fit for civilised society, if the tories get in again at the next election the poor may as well all go and kill themselves. |

wife - now been waiting 9 MONTHS for medical from pip - done ON PURPOSE ....no doubt about it, hoping the disabled etc. will get fed up and give up - or even die, they'll then save even more money on top of the saving they've made from the bedroom tax ..stealing from the poor, also strange how, when those who actually DO hear about their medical, its virtually always in awkward, out-of-the way places the disabled struggle to get to. Why is this? what kind of people have we got here who actually want to end all known help for the poorest members of a sick society?

Long termers on the work programme go the job centre, hand in their "drop and go sheet," receive a new sheet and exit - This takes all of 30 seconds. Today i went in and was told to go upstairs to hand in my sheet. I was intrigued as i waited and waited and waited to see someone. I made the most of the wait by jumping on their internet and printed off my CV & cover letter in case things took a turn for the worse. Turns out the dwp are doing away with the paperwork and going digital. (Seems a sensible step in the right direction)? The dwp rep went through my profile, when i asked what she was looking for, she said "checking if there's any sanctions against you." WFT!!!

I will be attending three workshop meetings at the work programme this week. (Me and my big mouth)! My adviser phoned me earlier this evening to see if i could go in tomorrow (for another pointless meeting) as she feels my input would encourage lost souls in the group. That's my reward for being a trappy so & so, though i would happily converse for England.

been a long term plan tony and only the start of things to come ,the establishment have made being unemployed on a par with having a criminal record and this card thing is another way to punish the poor ,a lot of the poor /unemployed /pensioners rely on buying bargain 2nd hand goods from markets and carbootsales etc , how can they trade that fooking card at these places ? just clobbering the poor needy and unfortaunate ! by the way they say that the benefit culture put us into the economic mess not the bankers what a load of shyte ! and where did all those trillions dissapear too ? didn't just dissolve into thin air did it? a lot of rich people got even feckin richer on the back of that !

Sounds like a good idea.
I know plenty of people who'd take the cards off their hands for a premium if they're daft enough to sell them. Perhaps the government could do similar, offering the full amount on the card, or cash with the premium taken off. You know what they say '' never give a sucker an even break'' |
