John Henshaw. Brilliant actor. Wonderful as the landlord of The Grapes in the classic series Early Doors. One of the best comedy series ever made imo
Brilliant programme. Pickles! ![]() |

seems Cilla and Geldof come out easily the worst two in a packed field |

or just, easily the worst

It's nice to have an opinion confirmed, to be sure. Cilla, along with Brucie, is an example of, to me, completely unfathomable popularity. Brucie just hasn't been caught yet.

Scouse cloak room bird who got lucky.
Not good looking. Can't sing. With no Beatles she'd never have made it. |

Brilliant link that, Ken.
A jolly good read. Some of the names and descriptions seemed to be no surprise, imo. |

apparently on a flight a cabin crew member was so annoyed with"our cillas "behaviour he leaned over to tell her " I knew you couldn't sing but I didn't know you couldn't feckin speak as well"...

I enjoyed the last episode tonight, so glad someone told me it did not finish last week
Difficult to imagine ay female will top Sheridan's Smith's performance this year We saw the sadness in Brian Epstein's life I know I give gays a hard time now, but only because they nicked marriage, give it back we are all square But I could empathise with Brian Epstein, he found sex but no love, and never overcame his own disgust at himself...even though he should not have had it, it was ok with me He was a good man |

^ a lot of sadness in Epstein's life. But he was a good man and a very clever man. The Beatles were rejected by almost all major recording companies in London, before Brian discovered and signed them in Liverpool in 1962.
And when it was obvious that Cilla Black's singing career was coming to an end, it was Epstein who suggested she should go into TV shows, eventuually she took the advice and became one of the highest paid stars on TV. The Beatles would never have made it so big without Epstein, and very unlikely Cilla would have either. He was a very clever man, but privately as you say never overcame his own disgust at himself. |

My daughter appeared in episode 3 as an extra (or background artist as they like to style themselves)
She said Sheridan Smith is a real class act, happy to mingle and have a laugh with everyone, and a real pro when called upon. Unlike the person she portrayed so it seems. |
