Was thinking premium bonds but recently found out if you put money in them now you won't be in the draw until 1st November - might only get 1 draw in that time.  So is it just a matter of the highest interest savings account that lets me withdraw the money in a few months' time with no penalty?  Might only get 1pc for that.  Or a CASH Isa.  Any advice?

Go to savings etc.

You won't get much in this day and age, expecially for a few months, after tax etc. If you go for Cash ISA then check penalty causes.

Thinly veiled "seeking some financial advice" thread imo.

1pc = £60-£90 I guess.  just seems a waste in a current account where I get £5 a month regardless.

I can give you all the advice . I locked some up at 4.5% 2.5 years ago, I was told I was mad at the time but not worked out that way!

There you go then, copy Howdi, in 2012.

In 2 or 3 months I would turn that into £50,000 ... put it into betfair and lay something thats a 100% certainty, that will keep i hidden for a few months

Go with premium bonds put £ 30' 000 in won £1000 first month
(Or second month which ever way you luck at it )just got £25 for September, better than the bank or under your bed Grin

Why don't you invest it in gambling or trading. I could turn 35000 in to 70000 in 3 months with ease.

Does seem a strange query for a BETFAIRman. 3months in savings pays - what - £43ish?
That's beaten by 50p/day Betfair. No brainer imo.
Report rob_dylan September 8, 2014 1:56 PM BST
No way I'm punting with it.  Might just put it in premium bonds but only get 1 or 2 draws.  Actually that is kind of punting.
Report Joel September 8, 2014 2:18 PM BST
Put it on a Hawks Swans Grand Final quinella. It's not punting, it's finding money in the street.

AA pays 1.4% .....Premium Bonds average circa 1% but you might get nothing
or a million.

Various solid shares pay decent divis. Buy London Metric anytime before December and pick up 7% and then sell hopefully for a capital appreciation as well.

Shares are not for 3 months more like  5 to 15 years.
Premium bonds a safe punt but you might get nothing.
Banks interest over 3 months probably not worth the bother
Better repaying any credit cards you have

*sorry 3.5% in December. 3.5% next July.

Bit longer than the OP wants to wait.
