Ironically enough I did another as well 5 places without mykanis in itShocked and that returned 391 for 126 that one returned 590 I think, was a good card today for a Monday afternoon probably the best meeting all week.I don't like anything at swell as a bet but It will be interesting to see if general tufto can repeat its last two runs as looks poorly handicapped but the time looked quite good and the gosden horse deuce again won in very slow time been given a high mark for handicap but looked 20ls better than the form.I can't back them at those prices but those two are the horses on the clock and visually are most interesting on the card and also bedloes island Mcabe picked it up two seasons ago looked like improving on surface at 8 Shockedbut he's got rid of it now hasn't run well and is with balding running in seller.

Le rouquin won by 6ls in extremely fast tume for the grade at Kempton, ran 1m38.23 and still only runs off 59 tomorrow due to go up another 8 pound quite interesting that last night greatest journey won off 89 in the 3yr old handicap over that c/d at Kempton and clocked 1m38.36 a 30 pound difference showing how decent le rouquins time was.He looks like being very short if he repeats that form he could go off odds on,danger probably the Prescott horse vejvois might be worth doing a reverse saver just incase spencer overdoes waiting tactics as jockey looks the biggest danger in the race!Nice trade for anyone betting that way, expect the prices to crash and an sp of even as short as 4/6 4/7 wouldn't surprise me...

Kingscroft

Bit of a veteran now kingscroft and now with Michael herrington, should've won at wolves over a mile back in October off 80 given a poor ride is not as good as he once was but still runs consistently well around the high 70s won on the flat last season off 72 but was placed off 80 several times and then the run behind almanack at wolves as mentioned above.
His aw form is at  this track is 3/11 and 5 other places, has already proven he likes the new tapeta surface and tonight was hacking up in this race but got no run throughout final furlong, surprisingly travelling best  as has looked better over a mile in recent times and they didn't go that quick in this race only .44 quicker than earlier race won by poppy bond although the 1st and 2nd in that race were probably decent for the grade.
He was hacking up for the last furlong of this race and again he may get another drop in weights, currently off 76 and a return to this surface with trainer not appearing to be in greatest of form he should be overpriced,if he gets a pound drop he will be off 75 and will be able to run off his lowest mark since march 2011 when he won here over the 7fs..

Will put a few of these up to keep the racing interest..Shocked

Tacitus

Nice performance by 74 rated colt with just 6 lifetime runs, did not look particularly well handicapped from turf and poly form but this looked a really poor race,he looks a very interesting runner to me winning by 9ls could've been nearer 20 and still produced a respectable time in a canter.
The most interesting thing is he looks purely dirt horse, sire ap indy top class sire out of seattle slew on dirt and what Julie cecil does with this horse in future presume he will come back to swell and he maybe one of those rare horses that progresses so much he might be seen abroad in future. He's going to take a big hike for this and it maybe his future lies over further, the fact ap indy has such good progeny on dirt but in Europe very poor on turf majkes the placing even more interesting...

Dream child
Kings bayonet

Think this was fastest 1m4f race run at wolves this season if not was the best race run there this sesson dream child absolutely hacking up in a very fast time totally different class to these and also .15 quicker than gold trail from the same stable on the 15th of feb winning off 96 so comparatively dream child could be the best 1m4f horse on the aw that has been seen.
Before this race stamina hadn't been proven but tonight looked far better horse over this distance and looks worth backing for the big aw end of season prizes, kings bayonet could be argued holds formdown slightly but although 8yr old he's only had 6 runs on the aw on this evidence a mark of 84 looks very generous,it looks about pace for him a decent pace the better his rating will look..Gold trail had beaten luv u whatever a nk o the 15th was 6ls behind these two tonight so looks very strong form, might be worth looking at aw finals for dream child over this trip and early prices!!

Problem with some of these so called tracker horses is they are bought up when they win but it can often be five or so runs since they were originally tracked, I do seem to have a knack of backing a horse that often wins the next time it runs, tonight Snow Dancer won, I really fancied it back in Nov it came third & this was the seventh time of asking since  before it got its head in front, don't feel like I missed it because if I had backed it in its last five races I would probably have just got my money back, nothing wrong with having horses to follow but so many its certainly not a gravy train to find winners.

As for to follows pumphol they are just an added extra, there have been a shedload of winners on there recently, most of them I havn't even mentioned as I've wanted them to drift which they have when I havnm't highlighted them so there's been some nice drifters as well following day..I also have missed a load of winners off there, they are alsonot necessarily to follows they are highlighting maybe specioal etc like for grade which should be kept track of on a permanent basis if those times are completely out of loine with handicap marks.
Report pumphol. March 13, 2015 8:23 PM GMT
I don't  actually have an axe to grind with Gigs, his over the top approach to winners is not something I would do, yes its nice to pick big price horses when they win & get appreciation from anyone that may have backed it, he does like to big it up large & he says its to wind up others that have an axe to grind so I'm not going to take him to task,  I have been betting over 40 years now & some make  money out of the game but most don't.
Games harder than ever even getting on is a trial in itself, so even if you were a genius at picking winners getting any serious money down before prices are raped is next to impossible though in my opinion, overnight prices are gone before a three figure sum is matched on it in my opinion, plus if your successful your  usually toast when it comes to accounts being restricted Crazy

This is the last time I'm going to reply to your drivel, that day I did a preview there were 4 winners not three infact I had small bets on the three other winners,if you read the write up it says I could see the first three fighting out the finish. On form and times they were clear of that fied,i backed them all ew all placed winner 6/1 the fcast paid £26 and had the trifecta 15x paid £88 plus I had two other ews at 12s placed and a fcast, the first race had put me in profit even if I didn't have another winner!!The write up was self explanatory as the rest of the card was poor value even though styill made profit on it,you read the rest of the card I never gave a postitve preview on any other race bar the first it was basically just filling the write up baeed on first race.

Just want to take you to task on this

thegiggilo    13 Mar 15 20:37

You mean this snowdancer pump best speedfigure in race only 2 runs over the trip, almost another nice touch..

The horse has actually raced 4 times over C & D not twice & best place was 4th, was actually on it the first time it ran over C & D  I think I got 33/1 & ran a respectable 4th it finally wins eleven races later I had backed it just the once since then & today  was its first win in 36 races, my guess is its been the best speedfigure in more than just today's AW  race
Report thegiggilo March 13, 2015 9:50 PM GMT
Backed it at 6/1 pumph,i'd be surprised of the rest of them will ever win a race thought it had only had the two c/d runs the previous run was fsstest by some way compasred to the rest of the field over that trip, was the only backable horse in the race.If Philip prince hadn't given the firs one such a poor ride that would've won as well franking the form, its all about prices probably the only time it will ever be a bet was when it drifted to 6/1...
Report pumphol. March 13, 2015 9:59 PM GMT
Agree with you about prices, I read the form before I get influenced by the betting, I know the type of horse I am looking for in the race I am studying, often  when I expect a double figure price & see its forecast to be around say 5/1 so I wont get involved, that's not to say I don't back 5/1 shots but fully expect those to be to the fore in the betting.
Had a stinker of a cold this week so have not got my head around it but a couple of potential races at Wolver tomorrow night so going to take a look.
Report thegiggilo March 13, 2015 10:09 PM GMT
If you really wanted to improve your profits, the way to do it is study times and learn to adjust them at the weights if you could take time to learn it you'd increase your returns 10 fold you'd also cut out a lot of losing bets as you'd know how slow some are relative to ratings even though you may think they are big prices.
I take every race on the aw and write all best or put their last 3/4 runs down trying to get an average times by each runner when doing the form, then taking into account draws pace look at prices, cracking example was tonight you see the bet I did anniversaire 8/1 and smugglers point 8/1 had the best times in race and beating of fav 1,2 not by much but 4x the price. The fcast paid £47 had it to a few quid but those 3 were clear of the field that was just one example tonight, the hodges runner in the first and snow dancer similarly plus indian affair with tsarglas kicking myself didn't back the pair in the last now or at least in multiple.
Report pumphol. March 13, 2015 10:22 PM GMT
I suspect you have a lot more patience than me but may sort out a couple of races next week & try it just to see how it goes.
Report thegiggilo March 13, 2015 10:44 PM GMT
The thing about aw horses if they can produce a decent time, they invariably will do it again 90% of the to follows I note are based on times so I know if they reproduce that run they will win.Thats the point of keeping them noted,as they may run on wrong surface, wrong trip I've had to follows that i've had to wait a year for ideal conditions, lots of them are avoidable because of prices its just like having a better formbook to hand.Pehaps a lot of them will never be value but at least I know what they are capable of doing and you can have horses that tell you they have a stone in hand just based on a time. There's been loads on the to follows winjing lately I've only backed the ones that have drifted, thus no bets on puntersmate as a lot of them opened short,i have virtually stopped posting on forums again now anyway.

Pensax lad

Wold be hard not to be impressed with pensax lad,4l winner tonight but looked even better than that win very impressive visually probably out of these class 5s this season the only sprinter I've seen that may go on to better things, hardly anything makes all at wolves and although this race was weak for the grade he did look completely different class.
The fact he is so versatile looks natural from the front and won off the pace at lingfield last time out and equally looked as good on both surfaces has even won at swell previously as well,he was eyecatcher penultimate run when badly hampered and has won twice since,he's going to get a big hike after this around the mid 80s wouldn't really interest me if higher than 85 so hopefully will be around that mark.
The other interesting thing was the time only .05 slower than when boom the groom was off 86 carrying 8-12 won over 5fs here back in November yet carrying 9n pound more and as seen tonight hacking up,there are very few progressive sprinters around on the aw around these marks and ron harris has had a poor season but he is good with these sprinters and could be running in the higher class sprints at the end of april...
8 ran TIME 1m 0.30s (fast by 0.20s)

This is an example of a horse that's run a monster time and disappointed twice since but at lingfield,he's off 85 I'd be interested to see where he is at the end of the season the time alone and ease of win he has to be better than an 85 horse.

Tacitus

Nice performance by 74 rated colt with just 6 lifetime runs, did not look particularly well handicapped from turf and poly form but this looked a really poor race,he looks a very interesting runner to me winning by 9ls could've been nearer 20 and still produced a respectable time in a canter.
The most interesting thing is he looks purely dirt horse, sire ap indy top class sire out of seattle slew on dirt and what Julie cecil does with this horse in future presume he will come back to swell and he maybe one of those rare horses that progresses so much he might be seen abroad in futureShocked. He's going to take a big hike for this and it maybe his future lies over further, the fact ap indy has such good progeny on dirt but in Europe very poor on turf majkes the placing even more interesting.

Hi Jockey

Think nowadays its more about how often you beat the SP
Several people have come on to say they have had half a dozen bets no winners but closed or restricted because the SP is shorter.
Your betting pattens will soon come under review unless your doing loads of multiples forecasts etc, of course some firms are worse than others BS  will close you down after one bet if your not there type of punter.
If your shrewd you are unlikely to last long.

Several people have come on to say they have had half a dozen bets no winners but closed or restricted because the SP is shorter.

Exactly. I had maybe six bets over about two weeks with a firm where they were top price. They all lost.

I was only staking about £10 but they barred me.
Report i_agree_with_nick March 17, 2015 6:11 PM GMT
...the reason they gave in the email mentioned "betting patterns".

I wouldn't call myself shrewd; I was just looking at Oddschecker. If a firm is prepared to offer a standout price, why complain when you take it?

remember mountains restricting me many years ago just before betfair....i did accas with them back then.
pre betfair they used to make some right mistakes.

got a 365 account now for when i drift into foreign residency accasionally...dont ask..

just wondered as ive read a few internet posts saying they are good but also they can restrict you if you win around 2k...

may be different in spain as the spanish pay 20% on profits from gambling....so if they are restricted the spanish govenment are losing out ....wonder if that is against their liscense?
Report G1_Jockey_4 March 17, 2015 6:17 PM GMT
think it should be a matter for a regulatory body if a bookie refuses one person a price and then gives that same price to another person.

they can cry traders decision etc but it makes no sense if they still offer the price to another person.
its descriminatory.
Report G1_Jockey_4 March 17, 2015 6:20 PM GMT
come to think of it if punters had represenation on the GC we could lobby the government to allow only licences to those who didnt restrict or close for the corect reasons....ie..people with serious ganbling problems.

thats what the gc is really meant to be for.
