which was why initially polls showed a majority no vote

But as the campaign has progressed people have become enamoured of the idea of independence

Average estimates suggest there is £1,500 billion worth of North Sea oil left. Pretty much any clown could tell you giving a Yes/No referendum to Scotland would endanger that.

The conservative move of removing the requirement to buy an annuity was the most significant government move since Maggie allowed many of us/our parents to buy their council houses at a discount having paid many years rent. This put wealth in our hands.
I like Dave & I liked Maggie too. I believe that the conservatives are better at running the economy than Labour & that the economy is THE most important thing that has a large impact on all out lives.

A better way to run the economy is to go after tax evaders/avoiders which costs the country more than twice what the welfare state does, Cameron would rather given his millionaire mates tax breaks instead, there is precisely zero logic in trying to save money in one place when you can save so much more in another. If Cameron was also so good at running the economy he would not have had IDS as head of the DWP, who wasted how many millions trying to implement 'Universal credit'. As for Thatcher, she may well have allowed people to buy their homes but at the same time she never replaced the housing stock needed for the growing population that included immigrants her party opened the door too
