Scotland could share the oil between 65 million people or 5 million. In a ratio - for every pound... right now every person in the UK gets about a penny and a half each from that pound. If Scotland got it all it would be about 17 pence each person. That's quite good - better than the pittance they get just now.

Just a steady socialist state. labour or snp? Scotland might just be free to be sensible instead of dreaming up ways to cut people's throats with poll taxes and bedroom taxes or new deals.

I suspect that following a yes vote Scotland will do alright.
It won't be the fairy-tale Utopia promised by the SNP or other rose-tinted optimists though.

this is it. seems an argument we keep seeing is "but that money is already accounted for in the Scottish budget". Well, no it isn't. Maybe it's included in an SNP manifesto, but at the moment the large proportion of it isn't Scotland's at all.
