A friend is about to take a psychometric test and no matter how many times he's tried on the practise tests, he can't get 100%. I've also done the test, and I couldn't get them all right either.
Any brave chit-chatters want to step forward and see if they can do any better?
It's basic arithmetic (calculators allowed). Link is below - name & email required but type in any old rubbish, as they don't verify your email before you start and you don't need email to get your results.

a week ago I achieved 191 over 120!

got the first one right im sure, but the second one my answer wasnt even in the list so i gave up. too much like hard work for a thursday evening. i didnt use a calculator or pen and paper cos i couldnt be arsed. thought it would be a bit easier than it was!

How long does it take? If over 60 seconds then a waste of time. In fact why bother?
15 questions akabula, and you get a max of 75/90 secs per question - so it's not going to take that long.
what is the purpose of the test?
i cant see how it could serve any meaningful purpose whatsoever. the time limit is ridiculous, where in life do you need to work things out that fast? if you worked for such a company, it would all be done by the computer anyway. if you work somewhere where you need to do complicated calculations, you wouldnt be under a time limit. i used to be a computer programmer and the stuff i had to do at times were ludicrously complicated, but time wouldnt be an issue. cant see how any job would need you to work something like those questions out in 75 seconds. its bizarre. it takes me 75 seconds to have a sip of diet coke, scratch my head and finish reading the question! whats the rush ffs?

you right we aint fast thats why we spend trillions on computers be it phones laptops etc

Agreed sideshowbob, the time limit is indeed ridiculous. On a side note, I never knew you were a programmer! Me too. Do you use your programming skills on here to make oodles of money? Many moons ago that was my idea... I'll let you know when I finally manage to crack that one.

It took both of us a couple of attempts before we even managed to get to "average", but no matter how much we tried, only once have we managed to get just_above_average. In the end we took screen shots of every question (the practice tests questions never change) and worked them out... did the test and we were still average!
Still convinced that some of the answers are deliberately incorrect just to drive you mad, especially as the instructions say "pick the nearest value".
Perhaps that the real objective of this psychometric test, to see how well you handle unobtainable goals, particularly when combined with extremely tight time restraints?

not really no. its easy to make money, its not so easy to make oodles of it. if it was id be in the bahamas! not done programming in a long time. dont think my brain would be up to it these days. i had to give it up at a fairly early age because i developed this strange thing where i couldnt use a computer without feeling sick. probably overworked myself, i used to be up all hours working on stuff. mostly debugging into the wee hours. didnt go near a computer for about 5 years. then i got back into them working as a technician. a lot easier and ive been ok ever since, never dabbled in programming since though.
that got me on one of the practice questions. cant remember exactly but i think the answer was 52 and i was going crazy cos there was no 52 in the list of answers! then i saw the thing where it said choose the nearest answer!
