I've had £2 on Kvitova to win the tournament ... though her record in the US Open is not good
4th round the best she's done so far.
I backed 2 horses in the 2.30 (only £2 ) put in lays of £4-30 @ 2.3 on each. both taken
finished 2nd 9-1 and 3rd 10-1 .......... btn by a first-timer with a trainer I'd never heard of at 40-1 !

As the seeds are disappearing fast, 8 of the last 16 in the women's tourney have been backed at 1000, and others at huge odds.
Alcohol and gambling don't mix. A small stakes punter, probably squiffy, was trying to get 20s for Serena Williams when the betting opened, but he layed it instead.

Have backed 9 players to make the last 16 in an accumulator - 5 already in, 4 with one match to win today.
Need Ferrer v Simon, Berdych v Gabashvili, Federer v Granollers and Dimitrov v Goffin for a big payout.

Unlucky with Ferrer the only loser. Did you hedge any of it?
Lucie Safarova cost me an acca last night
I only had one ante-post bet, on the number 9 seed, Jelena Jankovic, at big odds.
I thought she was safe last night so I never looked in, but she got done 2-0 by an unseeded player. I should have traded earlier

Bad luck cmat. Hope things improve for you on the tennis betting front.
Good luck Roger with your bet.
Well, Andy is playing at 7.30pm UK time this evening.
This is excellent news for me as Mr Makybe will be working this evening so I will be able to watch the match undisturbed. I don't know if this time is good for Andy.
I'm really hoping Andy will win but if he doesn't it will be some consolation to me that I really like Jo-Wilfred so will be very happy for him.
I'm ashamed to say that I'm only a very part-time tennis fan so despite starting this thread I really haven't got much idea what is going on at the USO
I will have a google right now and find out

The Daily Mail do tend to exaggerate their headlines but I found it interesting as I'm researching salt in the diet at the moment. Salt is important and very misunderstood.
Andy taking refined table salt for his cramp. I'm into Himalayan Sea Salt at the moment.
Anyway, back to finding out who the rest of the final 16 are.
Roll on the Jumps Season, that's easy peasy to keep track of, unlike the tennis
Haven't found out much only that Fed is through to the final 16. Very pleased about that. I found this article about Andy and his cramp.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/tennis/article-2738041/Andy-Murray-reveals-secret-fitness-weapon-US-Open-raiding-
No didn't hedge any of it as there were still more players to go after Ferrer so he wasn't the last leg.
8 out of 9 and him losing cost me a 20k return. Not very happy!

I didn't notice what time you had made your earlier post.
I was high on caffeine pills this morning. And, of course, I meant to say Himalayan *rock salt in my last post.
Anyway, looking forward to watching Andy v Jo-Wilfred

Hope Andy can wrap this up quickly by winning the third set.
Will have to go when Mr Makybe gets home. Promised him a back massage.

Commiserations to Tsonga. Didn't enjoy seeing him beaten.
Must go and get my grapefruit and bergamot oil ready for Mr Makybe
Ooh, interview with Andy.
He's a nice lad isn't he? Very frustrating at times.
Night all.

Mr Makybe arrived home and said he couldn't remember where he'd put his passport!
We're going away Friday!
We eventually found it.
I pummelled him to death after that
So, Andy to be playing Djoko in the QFs. Was hoping for that.
Love watching Andy and Djoko playing.
Hoping it's on Wednesday not too late UK time.

Make sure you tune in tonight around 8pm for Dimitrov v Monfils.
Monfils is very talented and an absolute clown - always good value, and Dimitrov is beautiful to watch - graceful, amazing variety of shots, creative - aside from Roger the most aesthetically pleasing strokemaker of anyone on tour (has been called 'Baby Fed' for years).

What a blow (financially and viewing wise) to watch the Serbian pocket rocket just fall short to the squealing Belarusian..
I now have no interest on who takes on Mr Williams. Who as usual has been given 4 byes to the QF...

I'm watching a good match on the red button - Junior Girls.
Bellis, USA (No'1 seed) v Vikhlyantseva, Russia (Unseeded).
There's a slight snag...both girls are not only dressed in identical attire, and pink trainers! they even look the same when a point's in play. A nightmare looking up from the pc to figure out which is which...
...Doesn't help that there's no commentary either.
BTW The Russian won the first set on a tie break.

There are quite a few that do it near me to c-c, not attractive though. One is the spitting image of 'Nursey' from Blackadder Anyway, that aside I'm not paying 10 quid an hour for someone to walk my dog and I like doing it myself anyway. Good luck with your punting tonight, I'll be truly astonished if Murray wins later I must say.

I'm very disappointed that he says it was his fitness that was the reason for his defeat.
"I got stiff in my hips and my back towards the end of the third set. I don’t know exactly why. It was certainly coolish, but I’m certainly not injured."
"I didn’t hurt anything. It was just fatigue I think and I stiffened up."

I don't think it's a case of him being 'unfit', it's just that the Serbian sweaty is the fittest tennis player ever to grace a court. The man is an absolute robotic machine, and as i've said many times, you have to scrape him off the court..

Don't know but he saved 2 match points in the 4th set when 15-40 down on his own serve.
Monfils is a fantastic entertainer but capitulates in 5th sets - never in the final set v Federer and lost one 6-0 to Murray at the French.

Two match points against him, must have been a fair price then.
