Anyone got one?
I'm up in York for the racing and the gaff I have rented has one. It's connected to the interweb and has all manner of ports. I have been playing songs from a USB stick and listening to my Trouble's House videos via the Youtube app. Good gadget for holiday use, not sure I'd stump up for one as they look pretty expensive.

£30 Chromecast can convert your TV into smart TV, I think.
Does that just give google music, or can you access other apps? This one here is a samsung tv and there's ca 25 apps you can access
Just had a read about that, it seems you "cast" from your laptop/tablet/phone to your tv, giving access to all manner of stuff.
They are £30 in the UK. It looks great! You can cast videos from your phone/tablet/laptop etc

My sister, who is one of those idiots who likes to 'Keep up with the Joneses' got one last year.
A couple of months ago she told her son she was going get a new computer.

mobdro is a great little app for your Android phone that you can cast to your Chromecast. It's not available on the Play store so Google to find out more about it
Now TV box is also a great little device as long as you hack it (really easy). I've one of these in an upstairs TV and use Plex to stream Movies and Youtube rips.

Chromecast is only £20 in Curry's atm, absolute bargain.

I just downloaded BBC I-Player for my Android phone and was able to cast it with no problems.
Working now....didn't realise I had to click cast icon just below I-player screen on Mac web page.....aswell as at top of browser page.
no but you dont need a smart tv to play movies or songs. i have two tv's that do that and neither are smart tv's. a lot of modern tv's have a built in media player via usb.
