I like the bloke I must say, he loves a punt as well although his book on gambling was a bit wishy washy. Courtney Walsh always said he prized Atherton's wicket above anyone else in his career and that's high praise indeed.

Every other phucker who has commentated all Summer has given this a miss, but ohhh nooooo, Atherton the mic swallower has to go to Northants even when his County were getting whooped by the old enemy at Old Trafford..

I like Atherton, and his is the only sporting autobiography I have read that didn't use a ghost writer (and none the worse for it). His words have value, unlike 99% of skys sports presenters
