ISIS has been the topic of conversation the last couple of times we have chatted. He goes back to Iraq once a year and i have asked how fearful he is and he doesn`t batter an eye lid, he says that his people(armed Kurds) protect his town and that sooner or later they will overpower ISIS but then in the next breath he is telling me how ISIS have taken over the oil supplies.
He also points the finger at Al-Maliki for being too pro Shia and anti Sunni which upset these factions. He believes if there was more tribal equality from Maliki, then obviously there would be less reaction.
