the bloke who used the nutcrackers in above post , he wanted a campervan but didn't want to splash out on campervan prices so he bought a ford transit van for peanuts ,and thought he would convert it himself ,when it came to cutting out the windows he phoned a hire company for a quote on an angle grinder/cutter and didn't like the quote and said he would do it himself ,I saw him a few days later and his knuckles on his hands looked like they had been through a mincer! turned out he had bought a dozen or so of those old fashioned kitchen hand tin openers and cut out the windows with them ffs

The one earlier about the chinese ..It was one of the kids birthdays a few years back , had a bit of a party at ours and had the family around and all decided to get an indian takeaway . There were 14 adults so we decided to go £5 each , so we would have £70 to get a load of food , 2 of my mates who brought no beer didnt put in cos they were skint so we had £60 .
When the food came , THERE WAS LOADS , i put it all in the kitchen with spoons in each of the currys , opened the rice , pappadums , sauces etc and left it to others and i was gonna get some later .
I noticed them all coming in with plates piled up and thought bloody hell take it easy . About 15 minutes later i noticed my sisters boyfriend { a proper tight tw@t} come back in with ANOTHER plate piled sky-high and then another 2 fellas who were also there . What do these foukurs want for a fiver .
To be honest every one that got an extra plate are horrible TIGHT penny pinchers anyway .
As i stated earlier , i know of no tight people that are good people , THEY ARE ALL HORRIBLE .

^^^ they did mate , every last drop . My sister and her fella also have 2 kids , they both have well paid jobs and my mum looked after her 2 young uns while they went to work ... and never gave her a single penny . There was over £4000 a month going in that house and gave her fook all just a sob story that if she couldn't mind the kids they would lose the house etc etc etc . I was in a sticky position cos my mum told me in confidence that she was finding it too hard , she was 64 at the time and raised 5 of her own . So I don't bother with them at all now ALL DUE TO THEIR LOVE OF MONEY

Well done for keeping calm zealot, I'd be having a right go at that pure selfish behaviour, family or not, it's just not right, and I wouldn't give a damn about a pathetic sob story. If you have kids, they're your responsibility, quite simple really. The story about losing the house makes it worse for me.
Great work from your mother though.

We had a quiz at school once where the teacher promised a nice prize for the winning team, we were in groups of three, and incredibly, I was in the winning team.
The teacher walked over put his hand in his pocket and got some coins out. He said, well done guys, share that between you, the grand sum of 21p. Who would have thought all those years later, it still rates as my biggest ever prize win.

I don't have a problem with someone being tight. It's their money and they can do what they want with it. Plus I realise day to day finances are a struggle for many people. What is much worse is people overspending and then coming to my wife (as the soft touch) asking to borrow money.

I went to the theatre with my partner and another couple, the girls worked together and she was a friendly enough sort but I had never met him before. At the interval we went for a drink and he bought his wife a glass of wine and then took out a notebook to write down "Sarah owes me 4 quid for wine." I never saw him again after that episode.

I watched him place three pieces of coal on his open fire. He then sat back in his chair to consider what he had done. Thought better of it and took one piece of coal off. Now that's what I call frugal. He was worth a few bob as well.

I have, or more accurately 'had' a mate who has never had much money but it has made him tighter than a nun's snatch. I'd suggest doing something (football, snooker, cinema etc) and he'd say about 50% of the time, "I can't afford it" so back then when I had quite a bit of disposable income i'd pay. Now every fecking time I suggest something he can't afford it because he is trying his luck to get me to pay. I cottoned on to this a while back and we haven't seen each other since.
When we sometimes went to McDonalds or similar we'd drive through and then settle up after. If he drove and my stuff came to £4 or so i'd give him a fiver and say you drove, so don't worry about the change. Not a massive amount but a nice little gesture IMO. When it was the other way round and his came to £4.23 for example, he would count out £4.23 in small change and pay me with that...
Can't stand things like that. I think i'm extremely generous fair with my money. In fact, i'm probably over generous. I love buying stuff for my family and and I will never understand people who are rich and then hoard it. At a certain point it is numbers printed on a screen. Have some fun with it.

I used to work with a bloke who pulled in a very decent wage, and his wife had a good job also. No kids. Mortgage paid off years ago.
The had never had a proper holiday in all in their 25 years of marriage -they used to drive down to Weston super mare twice a year, bring a packed lunch, sleep in the car over night (15 year old banger)and drive back the next day. That was their summer holiday. They were in their early 50's at the time and not in the best of health.
He never ever gave to a collection at work - didn't matter what the cause was. One of his best mates at work died suddenly, knew him for 25 years, never gave a penny when there was a collection for him. Just walked away when asked!
One of the tightest cnunts I've ever met.
He died in his mid 50's taking it all with him!

think the reason most tight feckers are horrible or miserable khoonts is they are thinking about saving money or fearing losing money 24-7 and it gets under their skin , the tight wad who has serious money is far worse than a tight fecker who has feck all as the one with feck all has a valid excuse to be tight !

I can't stand it when you go out for a meal with other couples and the bill comes... You get 90% of them want to pay by card which does my nut in. If you're going for a night/meal out then go to a fecking cashpoint, don't use your card to avoid tipping you tight tw@ts. Was in TGI Fridays one time with loads of single friends and three or four of them started using the calculators on their phones to work out what they'd had to the penny... My mate & I chucked 20 quid on the table and walked out...
Never happens when you go out with a group of male friends.. Don't know if it's people being Billy Big Bollocks or ego taking over, but say the bill in an indian comes to say £133 and there are five of you, you just all stick £30 in each and think nothing of it, no matter what everyone has eaten/drank...

went out for my mates wifes 40th couple of years back .. There was about 6 couples and loads of kids . When the bill came i suggested - just divide it between the number of adults . There was a fat horrible couple who picked up a menu and started working out what they had eaten . The ball started rolling then and a few others done it cos they didnt wanna pay more . Anyway when i seen me mate the day after he said he was £15 short and had to put it in himself .

My best mate's a bit tight, and he'll still dodge a bit of expense when he can, because he used to get ribbed about it all the time.
He used to ponce ciggies in the pub when we played darts, asking every player for one, and saying 'I'll get some in a minute.' He once got 20 from the machine in the bar but left them on the table when we went for a piss. I walked round the bar and handed them out, the whole packet was gone in under two minutes.
He never got over it.
If we went into a pub he was never the first one up to the ramp to get a drink, and the night would end on the last round I got in.
On holiday with our families he would ask all the kids if they wanted crisps, but only when it wasn't his round.
We drove down from Coniston in Cumbria to Blackpool for a day out with the kids. I was starving for breakfast, and I know he was, but a lot of the cafes weren't open yet as it was only 8-30 a.m. I went in the first one I saw, but he carried on walking until he found a cheaper one. I never saw him again until we got back to the cars that night.
In the hotel breakfast room in Cumbria he used to fill his kids up with toast as it was free.

If people feel the need to go through the bill working out what everyone has had incase they've been done out of 15p they are not friends imo...
Some nights you'll be better off, other night's worse off, but if you're that tight then just stay in and have beans on toast and a glass of water you absolute ****!

In the pub last Sunday watching Liverpool Utd , about 6 of us . A fella walked in who we all know and ordered a pint of ice water , he joined us and one of the lads said ' what you doing on the water ?' , he replied 'I'm not' , then he pulled a small bottle of cordial out of his inside pocket and squirted a splash into his glass . We were all GOBSMACKED .
He then said a cordial is £1.20 and his bottle only cost £1 . He stayed for the whole game and had 3 waters which cost him nothing and he went home with nearly a full bottle of cordial !!!
The tw@t is loaded as well .

If you're out for a meal and everyone is roughly the same or it's a stag or something, then yes chuck the money in, but if some people are drinking and others aren't and some are having steaks and the others a salad, they've every right to pay just their share as the difference could be massive, espeically with the price of booze these days. It would piss me off if that happened to me regularly I was on the wrong end of it.

I had toast instead as I could see the thought of coming back off honeymoon to a stale Weetabix would wreck the whole day.

My dad is so tight, i once wanted a zx spectrum badly when 15 so i thought i would give him an offer he couldnt refuse, if he got me a zx spectrum i would give him my lifetime worth of lego. I was walking with my friend and his two young boys in the park one day.
