There were 14 adults so we decided to go £5 each , so we would have £70 to get a load of food , 2 of my mates who brought no beer didnt put in cos they were skint so we had £60 . When the food came , THERE WAS LOADS , i put it all in the kitchen with spoons in each of the currys , opened the rice , pappadums , sauces etc and left it to others and i was gonna get some later . I noticed them all coming in with plates piled up and thought bloody hell take it easy . About 15 minutes later i noticed my sisters boyfriend { a proper tight tw@t} come back in with ANOTHER plate piled sky-high and then another 2 fellas who were also there . What do these foukurs want for a fiver . To be honest every one that got an extra plate are horrible TIGHT penny pinchers anyway . As i stated earlier , i know of no tight people that are good people , THEY ARE ALL HORRIBLE . bet the greedy feckers couldnt even finish it , just wanted their moneys worth and more so no one else could et |

^^^ they did mate , every last drop . My sister and her fella also have 2 kids , they both have well paid jobs and my mum looked after her 2 young uns while they went to work ... and never gave her a single penny . There was over £4000 a month going in that house and gave her fook all just a sob story that if she couldn't mind the kids they would lose the house etc etc etc . I was in a sticky position cos my mum told me in confidence that she was finding it too hard , she was 64 at the time and raised 5 of her own . So I don't bother with them at all now ALL DUE TO THEIR LOVE OF MONEY

somedtimes the kinder you are you get taken for a mug or they dot see it that way they just think its all nice and dandy
next time you all chip in order vindaloos or phals , see if the greedy barstewards will be back for seconds after that |

Well done for keeping calm zealot, I'd be having a right go at that pure selfish behaviour, family or not, it's just not right, and I wouldn't give a damn about a pathetic sob story. If you have kids, they're your responsibility, quite simple really. The story about losing the house makes it worse for me.
Great work from your mother though. |

I went to turkey a few years back on an all inclusive holiday , some of the tight khoonts piled their plates so high you would have thought they were feeding an elephant !

Some horrible tw@t i worked with years ago used to make his own 'one slice' ham butties for work but he used to go out on a Sunday night so he couldnt be bothered making any butties for the Monday . So he used to visit the works canteen for his Monday dinner and get ..... wait for it ........HALF A PORTION OF CHIPS & HALF A PORTION OF BEANS .

you must be tight as well dewey - cos you will be similar to your friends . fact

I used to pay my mother in law the going rate to look after our kids. She needed the money and it was only fair.

We had a quiz at school once where the teacher promised a nice prize for the winning team, we were in groups of three, and incredibly, I was in the winning team.
The teacher walked over put his hand in his pocket and got some coins out. He said, well done guys, share that between you, the grand sum of 21p. Who would have thought all those years later, it still rates as my biggest ever prize win. |

By:
'Thrifty' is a far better word imo - 'Generous' towards my family - I very much doubt they'd disagree with that.

If they're happy....so am I.

I don't have a problem with someone being tight. It's their money and they can do what they want with it. Plus I realise day to day finances are a struggle for many people. What is much worse is people overspending and then coming to my wife (as the soft touch) asking to borrow money.

Clydebank,
great post, totally agree. Can you ask your wife (lovely lady, heart of gold) if she can lend me a tenner until I have a winner? Thanks |

dewey,
what's wrong with my post, then? I'll have you know that I've published some well received posts. |

By:
tightness zaps away all the good in a person .I can not have a friend who is tight

I know someone who asked in a bar how much a vodka and orange was and how much much a vodka and lemonade was, he really wanted the vodka and orange but it was 20p more so he took the lemonade, its one of the most embarrasing things ive ever seen

I went to the theatre with my partner and another couple, the girls worked together and she was a friendly enough sort but I had never met him before. At the interval we went for a drink and he bought his wife a glass of wine and then took out a notebook to write down "Sarah owes me 4 quid for wine." I never saw him again after that episode.

Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves.
ONE OF THE VILEST SAYINGS EVER . |
|
By:
Zealot - What is 'vile' about that? You obviusly have good reason.
|

When I was at school I knew a lad who could peel an orange in his pocket. Then take a segment out at a time to eat it so that he wouldn't have to share it.
Respect. |

Dr. Crippen - Did he become a millionaire?
|
|
By:
dewey, I don't know but I wouldn't be surprised at all.
He certainly deserved to make good. |
