Slow News Day Alert - Boris to stand for Parliament

was thinking the same...must be a light hearted news story to depress us  even more

The more I see of this individual the more I dilike. Yes I know he plays the part of a clown, and
the British claim to love that...we are all such good sports! Yes he plays the fool but really don't
be fooled by this charade, he really is a fool.
Now a great country can afford to have a clown orp eccentric in power and smile and shrug in a
self satisfied way. But Britain is in a mess and I am starting to tire of his dopey smile.

WHY it matters -- because Boris wants to replace Cameron as Tory leader and then Prime Minister.

If Tories lose in 2015, Cameron will step down. Boris needs to be an MP to stand for the leadership. If the Tories win, then Cameron has intimated he will step down mid-term (say 2017 or 18) so again, Boris needs to become an MP in 2015 in order to stand for the leadership.

Yes we all know what he wants - so where's the news in that?

He's famous. He's the current Mayor of London. He stands a good chance of becoming Prime Minister. There's 3 reasons. It's not as newsworthy as Cheryl Cole goes shopping, I'll grant you.

If voting changed anything, people wouldn't have the vote.

Watched the news  , and some bloke born with a silver spoon jumps from one elite job to another .....was the headline news ....rather than the murder of 2 British student doctors in Malaysia ....ffs.

I read that Boris is very clever.  I'm glad I read that because I'd never have worked it out for myself (and I consider myself a bit clever).  Mind you he did go to Oxford - but so did I ... Cowley  Body Works for me.

And while I'm here ... what does "actively trying to have a second child mean" - like inactively would be doing it while making the tea or something.

Having a child while not actively trying to have a second child could happen during recreational s*x when a wriggler gets to the ovum (egg)

Cowley Body Works needs to brush up on their Biology classes.

I think they meant "intentionally" not "actively" but Daily Mail journos are not the brightest and best.

Boris, for all his smiling buffoonery, is another selfish, spiteful, Bullingdon Club Hooray-Henry who couldnt give a flying one about anyone poorer than him. How people can be taken in by the act staggers me.  You think Cameron and co are bad, if he got to be PM things would be even worse.

He's only popular because he has skilfully managed to portray himself as a buffoon and therefore a harmless clown and also for Londoners, he is not Ken Livingston.

There will be a shift if he gets a sniff of real power and finally comes under closer scrutiny.
