asked this before and didnt get very far, im not much more hopeful this time around tbh.

i want summat that wont cost me much, i have money but im not one of those muppets on dragons den that waste 90k developing a fecking dog lead whilst the dragons just look at her open mouthed in shock, i want summat that i can start up for a small investment then maybe put more money in to it if its actually looking good.

i want it to be something that can make real money, not some poxy 99p gadget that you cant make owt on.

what is out there, that isnt very good? what do you think needs improving on? and dont say betfair lol

Something to keep all your remote controls together.

We have 4 but I can usually only find one.

Don't you read Brassneck's threads?
Report sideshowbob August 4, 2014 8:32 PM BST
i was thinking about that yesterday. it is a right pain in the arse, i was in bed last night and kept trying to use the fan remote on the tv. and the tv remote on the blu ray player.

but theres no obvious solution is there? it would have to be a radical change in how things are made. i dont think people want to put remotes in one thing, would be too fiddly. and the universal remotes are always rubbish. voice activated controls probably arent the answer either, who could be arsed to talk to their gadgets all the time??

Have you never heard of an all in one remote which controls everything from your tv, hi-fi, dvd, sky box, vhs and even your hair dryer?

Why not open a Pizza shop and don't do BOGOF thereby halving the price of pizzas for single people who aren't fat gluttons.

I just bought a Pizza and had to have a free Kebab to justify the £9 price tag. Eaten the Kebab and half the Pizza, the rest chilling in the Fridge.

Much rather have just paid £5 for the Pizza.
Report sideshowbob August 4, 2014 8:53 PM BST
hmm. true but youre really paying for the staff, electricity and maybe delivery too. 2 pizzas probably only cost about a quid more to make than 1 does.

i built my own pc a few months ago, but i dont think theres much trade in custom built pc's is there? most people just buy the one that looks shiniest and has the poshest brand name.

ive often thought all the laptops out there could be improved upon, but the logistics of starting up a new brand would probably be a nightmare.
obviously the cost would be a lot per unit cos you arent manufacturing much yourself, pretty much just the casing, and unlike the big names wouldnt be buying them in huge numbers. no idea about licensing issues either, presumably to use stuff like samsung hard drives and intel chips you have to actually get a license to do that.
Report no moves August 4, 2014 9:11 PM BST
Francome...........asked in a magazine article about what business advice he would give suggested, buy a chip shop, he'd bought two dirt cheap and made 2 grand a week off each of them.

The traditional chippies that sell good stuff are always packed.

I also heard from a bloke in Lancashire that they don`t have any over there, just the kebab type places and all that stuff that sell fish & chips.

use electromagnets to transport people ...

let's say a person is enclosed in a capsule in a large tube ... the capsule is drawn to the other end of the tube where they arrive at the 2026 Commonwealth games in Slough.

You will need lots of these tubes in different parts of the country and large safes to store the Wonga.

id love to make a movie. but no idea how to do it. ya know, a local type one. not proper actors, just cast total unknowns. i reckon i could come up with a good story and find some really funny characters, but i know nothing about film making/directing/production any of it. not a frickin scooby. and i dont fancy doing a 2 year uni course in it.
Report bigmo August 4, 2014 10:50 PM BST

No formal training could make it a masterpiece.
Report Emden August 4, 2014 10:51 PM BST
making a local movie with unknowns is easy to do - I made one in wolverhampton town centre a few years ago.
Report sideshowbob August 4, 2014 10:54 PM BST
it could but id want it to be polished enough to show at festivals etc, no idea about the technical aspects of it all. lighting, sound, editting. all kindsa stuff must go into it. the only thing id have any confidence in is writing a story and casting. i see great characters all the time who are much more interesting than the stiffs you get in mainstream movies these days.

If you can make people believe you are genius and your on a higher plain to other mere human beings, you can sell them any sht you like. The great thing about this theory the more they pay for stuff the more you can tell them they alone get what your trying to say.

Let's try and narrow it down a bit. You want something that is easy. You want something that won't cost you very much. You appear to have no marketing experience. Also, your drive and enthusiasm for your selected product is such that you want somebody else go think of the idea for you. Hmmm, this could be a tricky one.

So, basically, you were sat on the toilet having a dump whilst mulling over your potential future.
That's the answer!! Invent a knacker-scratcher for those quiet 'men moments'. As a basis for an idea, it could look something like a back-scratcher...but with the little scratty tines on the other side. Oooh, I can feel the ecstasy now! Blush
