If I send an email out from my googlemail account it arrives in the other inbox saying it is from myprefix@gmail.com.
However, whilst if I hit reply to this (from a separate email account when doing testing) it arrives, if I send two straight test emails to myprefix@gmail.com and myprefix@googlemail.com, the gmail one never arrives but the googlemail one always does. This means if someone replies directly to an email of mine it should get through, but if they note down my email address and start one from scratch to @gmail.com I won't receive it.
Any ideas how to either make emails to @gmail.com and @googlemail.com both arrive, or how I can scrap the @gmail altogether? I tried logging in with it as @googlemail.com and it logged me in but then told me I was in as @gmail.com

To try to make that make more sense:
My emails send from prefix@gmail.com
Incoming emails to prefix@gmail.com do not arrive, but emails to prefix@googlemail.com do arrive.
How do I get my emails to reach people saying they are from prefix@googlemail.com so that they do not send emails to an account that doesn't receive?
