6-0 ,7-0 , 7-1 never seen that before i knew Brazil were totally sh1te before the game ,but still felt confident enough to lay 6-1 ,7-1 ,7-0 etc at 1000/1 bought myself out at a very large red just after half time - but , good luck to the winner - i love losing bets under these circumstances must do some betting now to try to recoup hopefully it will shut the BBC up about Brazil for the next 10 years very well done Germany (and the ref ) |

I layed Germany at half time for £100. It only cost me a quid but as they were already 5-0 up it was pretty ambitious!
No one can ever say I'm not optimistic! Looking at the stats it really is remarkable what Germany did. Just 14 shots at goal producing 7 goals. That surely can never have happened before - especially against a 'top class' team? |

Well done Germany for nailing the myth of Brasilian football. They haven't played the beautiful game since 1982. I missed all the goals because I was trying to mend the toilet.
I actually thought Brasil would go through in a boring dirty match. Seeing that knob Luiz blubbing like a baby was hilarious. |

14 shots on goal and 7 goals is nothing unusual, have seen games with 6 shots on target and
5 goals eg. Quite simply goalkeepers rarely save any shots,. The main reason is goalkeepers today are too tall. It is almost imopossible to be over 6ft and have good reflexes. Add to this the fact that when young someone tall will be put in nets, not because of any natural aptitude. This will almost certainlymean that all keepers, including professionals, will be actually worse than someone selected randomly. |

the ratio was not really unusual, it happens many times, every weekend in the major football leagues. |

The average is about 3 shots on target for 1 goal, but really goalkeepers do not
actually save any shots..an exaggeration! |

I bow to your knowledge if you're a stats man, lfc1971, but I still think it's more than remarkable that Germany managed to score 7 goals out of 14 shots on goal in a World Cup semi final against the favourite for the whole competition.

I can go with you on, say, 3 shots producing just one goal in many league games per week, even 'top' ones - but to amplify that to 7 goals out of 14 shots in the semi final of a World Cup level is just staggering.
