i have no problems with their music Slippy - prefer their earliest stuff or their stuff post 2000 , not really into the Joshua tree etc - didn't they become a bit 'stadium rock' at that point ?

I think they are an easy target, Bono especially. I understand the hate sometimes, but surely even the people who don't like Bono must appreciate the music to a degree?

Don't partically rememember anything outstanding in the '80's 'popwise' other than the the birth of my 3rd &  4th children 1980 and 1982 respectively. All of my children having the 'SAME' Father.. - ..... of which in this day and age I am quite proud and happy with. (Different world).

Its difficult to think of songs that compare to those that defined the 50s 60s
and 70s...and even before these decades. Its the first clear sign of the death
of 50 60 years of popular music going back to the early part of the American
20th Century

Cloudbusting was one of the two songs Thin and Crispy listed on Sunday so I gave it 12pts but then he listed two more songs yesterday so I asked him to put the 4 songs in order but he didn't reply (logged off maybe). Cloudbusting's points total was therefore reduced from 20 to 8.
