aircraft used to take that route to the west coast - not sure if they still do
Report Asparagus Man January 9, 2014 5:59 PM GMT
Yeah most of them still do go over the top from the west coast.

Never been a direct flight London to Hawaii since I can remember.

It's the kind of trip Concord should be brought back for.

Think it depends on time of year and wind direction. Don't recall ever flying over north pole, just Iceland and Greenland, then turn left.

We stopped off in Boston for a few days then flew to Hawaii from there. Waikiki Beach and Oahu in general were both very overrated for me and a big disappointment, the Japanese run the show. I went to a clothes shop there to have a look around with the ball and chain and they wouldn't let us in because we hadn't made an appointment Angry

Hilo and Kona on The Big Island were far more interesting. I had a good time don't get me wrong but not somewhere I'd ever want to go to again. We stayed at this place in Kona and it was alright, much better than anywhere we stayed in Honolulu anyway.
