Jerry Sadowitz versus the people was great viewing I thought. Seen him live loads of times at the festival. 6/10 for me.
Ken Dodds I'd also see mush higher even a 7.

Enjoying going through these lists, surprising how many chit comedians we have.
Apart from Dick Emery, Norman wisdom, Clive Anderson, Ronnie Corbett and Peter Kay the rest would be a 1 or a 2.

I like Rhod Gilbert - he's the only one of the "new breed" of comics who really make me laugh. I think he's been influenced by John Cleese.

Did Paul Merton make the list?

I'd move The Chuckle Brothers from 2 to 3.

Fawlty Towers: I thought the bloke who played Roger in the episode where Polly pretended to be Sybil was very good.

"...all that waving, enough to tire anyone out"

I like to use variations of that line to wind up the missus.

There are quite a few to add Hank. Although I haven't heard of Chappelle, Maher and Burr.
I'll have to do a little research before adding some new names in.
I'll rewrite it and start a new thread in the next few days.

I looked those 3 names up, Hank.
There must be 100's of American comics I don't know.
I'll have to watch more and rate in the future.

Bill Maher does a great show called Real Time study- I think you'd like the show. He still does stand up too and I saw him live years ago.

He's made me smile a few times in the last hour or so I've spent researching.
The new list is being done.

lfc - your superior intellect will, of course render my tripe unreadable.
I'll have to resign myself to that.

However, I'll be able to console myself with your brilliant and insightful offerings ALL OVER this forum.
I hate to disappoint you but I'm about to put up a new updated version of this list.

Never mind, eh.
You might just have to force yourself to ignore it.

Bob monkhouse had millions of jokes and could improvise and was very good at recalling jokes .but he couldn't be discribed as some one who would make you laugh or was funny as ken Dodd or Bernard Manning or Tommy cooper or laurel and hardy . They were funny he was good at what he did but you wasn't filled with a belly full of laughter like you were with those

There is a new series on late at night on ITV4 or something called "stand up sketch show". It's mostly established second tier stand up comedians, but quite bizarrely for 2019, it's actually FUNNY and not just a pile of sh1t. I don't think it's once mentioned Trump or Brexit - it actually tires to be humourous. Very novel for British comedians these days.

I'm all for things/people/comics which don't go on about politics.

Trump and Brexit are cheap laughs for that crowd in the same way bashing liberals or SJWs are for conservative comedians. plays to its base but beyond that there's not much appeal

Excellent work study. Think its fair to say Mickey Flanagan still here after 5 years. Think we can all agree you have been moe than fair with Lenny Henry & Phil Jupitus!
